We are allegedly interested in Lucas, the 19 year old.

If we really want him then we must do a quick deal. Make a £40m offer and offer him £100k+ a week.

If we don't? Well, they will get that from another club and sell him to that club.

There is really no other way to get him.

To be fair, you had exactly the same attitude about Suarez. Some of them wont come, some will.

You always seem to downplay the impact of LFC. It wont work on them all, but by the same token, we're not some two-bit club who the fans are stupid to think we can sign quality players.

It is up to them. I think they are intelligent enough to know that.

If they want to be the best and they said that they want that then there is no other way.

We must be prepared to make big losses until we play in a bigger stadium and our young players can fill up spaces in the starting XI/squad.

If we want to be a top club the next few years then there is no other way.

I'm not crazy but the transfer market is.

I said well over 10 years ago how the transfer market will look like. I have been proved right. I talked about £50m+ transfer fees and the football world being run by mega rich owners. That was years before it happened. Years before Roman bought Chelsea.

When it comes down to the transfer market then I know what I talk about.

OK fine, but we are not owned by mega rich Arabs or Russian oligarchs, we can't do what they do, you need to understand that.

I don't have a clue what we can or can't afford in the transfer market. Time will tell.

What I do know is that we will almost certainly have to make big short term losses if we want to be able to compete in the transfer market.

When we play in a new stadium that won't be a problem but until then we don't have any other choice than to make big losses if we want to compete against the best clubs out there.

How do we cover these big losses, loans from the bank?

I think our owners must be prepared to make at least a £40m+ loss a year until we play in a bigger stadium.

The rules don't allow that so that is another problem.

The key point is still that we must get a bigger stadium. If we don't? Well, then we are finished as a top club.

                      That is on the agenda.

As for the rest, I don't think our owners will do anything that is unsustainable. Remember Arn, we are competing with Arsenal and Spurs, not Man City.

Depends on what FSG want short term. If they want to be able to win the league short term then big losses it is. If they are happy with a CL place then they don't need to spend as much money.

Another problem is that they need to fill a new stadium week in week out. Will they be able to do that if we aren't fighting for the league title? The answer is probably no. Will they be able do it if we are fighting for the league title? The answer is probably yes.

Only the proper implementation of FFP will allow to compete with City, otherwise forget it.

I think that I can almost guarantee that if Man U isn't fighting for the title two seasons in a row then OT won't be sold out every week. They would most probably lose 10k+ a week.

If you want to sell out a big stadium week in week out then you must fight for the league title almost every season.

Building a new stadium also means that our owners must set up the club so it can compete at the top almost every year.

It won't make any good business sense to build a new stadium and can't compete for the title almost every season. Then we will make big losses.

We had a big chance to catch up last January. We should have splashed out a lot more than we did because we wouldn't been affected by the FFP.

We should have splashed out on three four more excellent players even if meant it would have cost us £100m.

We could have secured them and then loan them out the rest of the season to the club that owned them if they wasn't prepared to sell them in the middle of the season.

£100m may sound like a crazy amount of money but they will earn that back if we play in the CL two seasons in a row.

If we miss out on the CL two seasons in a row then we will probably lose out on £100m+.
