that's their business plan. to recoup all the initial outlay plus a tidy profit when they sell us on. that's it. acquire at a low price, fix the club up, reinvest all the capitol that comes in through revenues in the side and grounds, make them champions and sell someday. not anytime soon though. even if we win the league a few times, they'll want to hold on to us for at least 10, 15, maybe even 20 years.

it's the same plan at boston. they've won the thing twice, and they haven't said anything about selling anytime soon.

i wouldn't worry about it at all, craig, it's many years away and the success on the pitch part comes first.

makes the most sense really, medium - long term investment with when they sell making a decent profit.

In order to be competitive, we need to be in the CL as soon as possible. You know this as well as i do.
Of course but people are talking as though its critical to qualify this season

        It isnt

        Preferable but not critical

It's not critical in terms of the club's survival, but in terms of succeeding at the highest level, the longer it takes to get into the CL, the harder that becomes. Surely you agree with that?

it's very important as far as recruitment goes. the prestige is an important factor for players eyeing up the club, and the money can fund at least one great player a year. also once you're out it can be a real uphill battle to get back in. it's not critical in terms of whether or not the owners walk away. it really just dashes our hopes of a quick return to the adult table. which imo is still a huge bummer, but it's not the death knell of the club. keep pumping the revenue back in and we'll get there eventually, but longer many of you i'd rather not wait if it can be avoided. it's still an upward trajectory if we miss out though, for me.

The thing is Tottenham caught up and got into 4th

Arsenal have been in 4th and we are competing with them for that spot

For me 2 teams are nailed on for the top 4 and the rest is wide open and even if we are outside the top 4 this season I think we'll compete again next

Guess what Lec. You need to learn some basic rules when you post on Est.

IMO you should have been banned a long time ago because of how you behave against posters with a different opinion than you.

I post some weird post sometimes but it is still only my opinion and you don't have any right at all to make fun out of me or to have a go at me. No right at all. If you do then you are the one acting like the idiot. Then you should be banned.

Only because I'm Arn don't give you any right to have a go at me, no right at all. If you do then you should be banned.

You can post like I do instead. I take a lot of ****, **** that I shouldn't need to take but I discuss the subject and don't have a go at someone if he/she have a different opinion than me.

If EVERYONE acted me and discussed what is right or wrong about a post then it would be less fights and strong words.

I will be back again sometime next week and post again and if Lec or anyone else make fun out of me or have a go at me then I expect that poster to be banned. It is not ok to have a go at me because who I'm.

No one should get abused because of an opinion, no one. Discuss instead in a civilized way.

I've read and heard it from various media outlets. City have got very little to worry about after their humungus sponsorship deal

IMO, Lec is one of the more insightful posters on this forum.

At least the club now has a strategy that might work (which I'd define as compete regularly at the top domestically and in Europe and maybe even win the league every now and then). Moores's main policy seemed to be to shut his eyes and hope it all worked out and of course H&G's strategy was simply to bleed the club dry until its bleached bones collapsed under the weight of debt.

Whether the strategy will work remains to be seen and will only become clear in hindsight, after some years, but to have a credible one is in itself a major step forward.
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I'd imagine this was the goal of all three administrations?

The thing with FSG, is they seem to be planning to do this without risking the long term financial security of the club, but still allowing us to invest in the squad.

For the first time the club is being run by people with solid business acumen, and it is good to see us finally looking to maximise the undoubted power of the brand 'Liverpool Football Club' around the globe.

The club is in good hands. Let's just remember how far we've come in a year - we're in a good place now.
