Yeah but City and Chelsea are both at it this year. They'll definitely be up there but it won't be a 2 horse race at this rate.. If they fall behind again without adding a CM they'll start to fade IMO.

Add Witsel to that list too.. The world cup may be a bit too soon, maybe the next Euro's and they're lacking in 1 or 2 area's but they can upset a lot of sides.

We can't write off United just yet - it'll be interesting to see who they bring in this summer.

I don't think they can go out and afford to spend £30m+ and £200k+ a week on a player - or if they do it'll mean that player will be their sole signing.

My hunch is that it'll be a similar summer for them as just year - 3 players between £15m - £20m each, probably all under 23, and none on huge wages.

I 100% Agree with the sentiment, but wished and thought it to many times. But they are not investing like the big boys and as you say there 'premium investments and home grown talents' are getting old.

Exactly.. If they have a good window, Kagawa and maybe a Martinez then I'd say they've every chance of staying on for the next few years. But missing out on Hazard (if they were really in) will be a set back but also prove they're willing to spend a fair bit.

Fingers crossed they stick with Scholes for another year, as good as he has been he's just papering over cracks and when they do need to reinvest they might be in too deep.
