They should have got someone in someone that would be prepared to do EVERYTHING to make sure England got the 2018 world cup. Just like Lord Coe probably was in the 2012 bid and then tell the media to keep out of it.

Look at the countries that got the latest world cups, 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022. Then you see a clear picture. The Government can control the media. They won't come out with something that the Government doesn't allow.

I for one would rather not forgo our freedom of the press etc, so if that means we'll not get a world cup then so be it.
