Anyone who has an anti english view then so be it but that shouldn't blind the obvious corruption that has gone on at FIFA by people running the sport i love into the ground.
Why bother coming out stating one bid has the best technical report, visit report, economic report then it fails at the first hurdle. It doesn't add up.
Forget about the 2018 WC fair play to Russia. The big one is 2022 and why a country with a population smaller than birmingham have been awarded the WCLast edited by Leyton388; 03-12-10, 04:00 PM.

Wasn't one of their weakness the vast travelling needed between venues.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostGo on then what exactly is wrong with the Russian bid?
Add to that the racist thuggish behaviour of their fans and it's going to put off a lot of fans travelling out there. We come not to play.

maybe they could justify Australia's one vote instead, to avoid the prejudice issue.

Its Englands Fault.....we spent 430 milion on providing a glossy bid. That equates to nearly £20million to each FIFA exec.
Why didn't we just give 20million to each person and then BEckham could have done a simple powerpoint presentation and we would have pissed it.
Spending 430 million and hoping for fair play was just stupid._____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?

The World Cup has been to most areas of the world but not the Middle East, looking at the makeup of the countries in the area Qatar was the logical choice.Originally posted by liverpooltj View PostAnyone who has an anti english view then so be it but that shouldn't blind the obvious corruption that has gone on at FIFA by people running the sport i love into the ground.

Australia for all its plus points is in a massively different time zone and it would have been a nightmare to watch matches for the Europeans (where the big audiences are).We come not to play.

No real difference to Japan/Korea really. That was a pretty successful World Cup IIRC.Originally posted by Imy View PostAustralia for all its plus points is in a massively different time zone and it would have been a nightmare to watch matches for the Europeans (where the big audiences are).

I think your figures are out by a factor of 10.Originally posted by red g View PostIts Englands Fault.....we spent 430 milion on providing a glossy bid. That equates to nearly £20million to each FIFA exec.

More like 25.Originally posted by Operation View PostI think your figures are out by a factor of 10.
The FA spent £15m and councils have apparently spent £2.1m. I expect there are other costs as well but the total isn't going to get anywhere near £20m, let alone £430m..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Can't recall exactly. I remember being down the pub very early for the England - Argentina game, and being a complete mess by early afternoon. In fact I recall falling of my stool at the bar at one point. INGERLAND!!!1Originally posted by Imy View PostWhat time were the KO?

World Cup's as a whole are bit meh, the European Championships have more teams with quality, in fact the Champions League is the premier world competition imo.Originally posted by Reece View PostCan't recall exactly. Anyway the two world cups i've enjoyed the least USA 94 and Japan/Korea 02 (SA 2010 was close though)
The late/early KO of times being one of the factors. We come not to play.
