It is a staggering decision until you see who is in charge up there. Maybe they've been taking advice from Christian Purslow...

Pardew to be named Newcastle manager tomorrow
A great time to be playing them? Not sure it'll make much difference but I guess he'll be in charge for the game against us..

PARDEW FARES BADLY IN FANS` POLL
Bookies favourite Alan Pardew attracted just 15 votes in a newspaper poll of fans on who they wanted as the new Newcastle manager.
Indeed, Chris Hughton, who was sacked on Monday, received more backing in the online survey carried out by the city's evening paper, the Evening Chronicle.
There were more than 1,000 responses to the poll with Pardew claiming less than two per cent of the vote - interestingly, Hughton managed three times that.
Martin O'Neill, who is understood not to be one of the front-runners for the job, was a runaway favourite with a 42.3 per cent share, while Martin Jol attracted 32.8 per cent of the votes before it emerged that his interests may lie elsewhere."I will make the boys feel your support"

How many votes did Bender get?.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

The Soap Opera that is Newcastle United Football Club
I'm gonna try and keep this as clean as possible because I'm still actually seething at the developments at my club in the last 48 hours!
A thoroughly decent man has been fired from his job and for what:
Winning the Championship at a canter last season.
Beating Aston Villa 6-0
Beating Chelsea in the Carling Cup
Spanking the dirty Mackems that are Sunderland 5-1!
Beating Arsenal - AWAY!
Drawing with Chelsea in the League
Sitting a very respectable 11th. Mid table when ALL pre season predictions were instant relegation.
I'm not sure what the complete and utter tool that is Mike Ashley was expecting when he has given the man virtually no transfer funds, certainly none in the summer. Did he think that Hughton could come up with a CM style tactic that meant that he was going to romp the league by 20 odd points?
And now it seems the "more experienced manager" he needed is none other than Alan Pardew.
Left West Ham in despair then taking Charlton down in the same season.
He couldn't then get them back out of the Championship and most recently couldn't even win promotion from League 1 with Southampton.
He is getting the job after becoming friends with Ashley and Derek Llambias after meeting them in a casino!
Need I say more.
My club is in crisis and do I not like that!

He sounds excited about Pardew
