Baggies are used to decent on the floor football. they used to call themselves "The Arsenal of the Championship" - they weren't even arsed about going up so long as they could watch the Baggies playing nice football. Hodgson is the anti WBA style. He'll be hated there too.Comment

"Just launch it!" went the cry – a kneejerk scream that can be heard up and down the country if a defender appears to entertain the slightest ambition of using skill or dexterity to remove himself from a vulnerable position.
Football players, fans, spectators and coaches schooled in Sunday league football will know all about it. This particular demand for the player to immediately welly the ball as far as he can was recently attributed to Roy Hodgson, erstwhile manager of the most successful club side in English football history.
Hodgson was Rinus Michels in disguise.

FFS. I'm not miffed in the slightest, i'm ****ing delighted that the king is back on his rightful throne. The fact that we had to go through a few months of despair under Roy to get the end result makes it all worth it in my book. Sacking Rafa was fantastic, one of the best days I can remember. Now we have Kenny and it's like Christmas everyday.
I just think the ****e that is written about Roy is way over the top. Fulham weren't known home or away for being a long ball team. Not once can I remember this being said. At home we played some decent stuff in patches, just didn't happen anywhere near enough. Away from home as confidence was so low we did play complete ****, but again it wasn't long ball in the way you set up with two big fellas up front. The defenders launched it as they had no players making themselves available, again ultimately down to Roy's lack of nous away from home. But he's gone and it was right he went. He wasn't up to the job at LFC. I was wrong in hoping he'd make the step up. But some people seem to be angry he took the job, like who would say no?Always borrow money from a pessimist. To be fair to him, I do think people are picking up on things here that are not wholly representative of his views on football. Tell you what I think's over the top, Hodgson's inexplicable reputation and the eulogising over his much-fêted experience. On Sky today some numpty was talking about "Hodgson's fantastic achievements in the game". Same **** they all come out with.

The man has an inflated reputation and his teams play primitive football. Of course "we played some decent stuff in patches" - there are lots of good players in the squad so it had to happen on occasion, despite the enormous Hodgson handicap.
Fact is he's an old English duffer, one of the boys and one of the leaders of the gang. They all salute each other, for patently obvious reasons, and if you tell a lie often enough it becomes accepted as the truth. If you watched SSN today you'd have heard Hodgson being lauded as some sort of managerial great.
Other than Hicks & Gillett being ousted, that glorious day when Hodgson was sacked was the best and most important day in our recent history. It was always going to be a disaster. It was obvious.
