Not Kelly's biggest fan but he's a solid defender and did well yesterday. Gutted for him.

Still think if Enrique can screw his head back on, we'd have our strongest line-up. Come on Jose, you can do it!!

Kelly hadn't looked too great this season but he was a beast yesterday, hopefully he was just in a temporary slump and can get back to his best next year when he's back.

He's stagnated but did look a lot better yesterday.

Problem for Kelly is that he's got one of the best fullbacks around in front of him, and his terrible luck of injuries. As yesterday proved. Again.

Yes he was much better yesterday. I still think too many of our attacks break down at his feet.

Hopefully it means we will se Johnson back on the right.

Im sure Enrique will do fine.

There can't be many 22 year olds who've had as many serious injury problems as he's had, the poor guy.

Kelly hasn't looked great early on because he simply wasn't getting game time, can't expect anyone to come in not playing any games and be 100% especially. Personally i've rarely seen him having a stand out bad game. Every time he has come into the starting 11 and got a regular run of games he has excelled. Old fashioned RB but he is an excellent defender that IMO has rarely let us down. What he lacks in an attacking sense, in which he is improving... sure he makes up in his defensive solidity which is first and foremost. Pity for him that he is behind Johnson but Johnson has nailed down that spot.

Johnson seems to do very well at LB.. but obviously maybe not as effective as he can be at RB but much better than Enrique. Tricky one with Kelly who needs game time but he does seem to be very unlucky with injuries.

I still hope we'll move him to CB eventually, he's not that great going forward but he's awesome defensively, playing FB should give him enough technique to become a good ball playing CB.

Absolutely gutted to hear this news. I love Martin Kelly... mostly because I fancy him but also because he's a decent fullback and all that.

We'll see a bit more of Wisdom now
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Looks like we won't see Kelly until next season. And Borini could be out a while too.

                        Kelly, Agger and Fabio update
                        24th Sep 2012 - Latest News

Martin Kelly is likely to be out of action for a significant period of time after scans revealed he suffered an ACL rupture of his right knee during the match against Manchester United on Sunday.

The England international will now require ACL reconstruction.

Meanwhile, fellow defender Daniel Agger, who was stretchered off the pitch 13 minutes before Kelly limped out of action, has suffered a significant bone bruise to the left knee.

No ligament damage was sustained but further tests will be carried out before it can be established when he will be able to return to training.

To add to Brendan Rodgers' woes, Fabio Borini has considerable swelling to the inner aspect of his right ankle though no fracture was detected on the X-ray.

The club's medical staff will wait for the swelling to reduce before an MRI scan can take place tomorrow to assess any soft tissue damage and determine when he may be able to return to playing.

Bad luck for the lads there, just hope they make a full recovery. Opens the doors for more youngsters I suppose.
