    Uefa Regulations

No club may have more than 25 players on List A during the season, two of whom must be goalkeepers. As a minimum, eight places are reserved exclusively for “locally trained players” and no club may have more than four “association-trained players” listed on these eight places on List A.

I tell you what, having read that, I feel City are going to have some issues picking picking their 21 man squad for the CL next season. Will be interesting to see which of the 13 foreign players will be selected. One or two of the lads won't be happy at missing out. You've also got to take into consideration any foreign player City pursue this summer are pretty much going to want assurances that they'll be picked in their 21 man squad too.

I reckon some people should be a little more circumspect in commenting on this one until they are sure our club is going to pass ffp, which is by no means certain right now.

Who were Man City's 'locally trained' or "association trained" players in the CL this season I have a recollection that they might not have made the full local quota this year according to the UEFA website there are only 24 players listed here:
        http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionslea...919/index.html

I'm guessing Hart, Richards, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Rodwell but there must be at least another one.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

18.12 If a club has fewer than eight locally trained players in its squad, then the maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly.

I hope this doesn't mean that instead of having to include 8 homegrown players it now reduces to 4? 17 foreign players plus 4 homegrown players would be a piece of cake for City. Have I misinterpreted it?

Yes it means that say a club could only register 6 home grown players then they could only register 23 in total or in city's case 19. Deficit is substracted from the total.

City's own statement said the squad reduction will have no effect as they only registered 23 last year and only used 21. They've got away very, very lightly. We might struggle next season too but at least we know the punishment barely passes as punishment.

Not only that that but they argued the two others points too. One was that they were reducing their wage bill anyway and the other was that they weren't intending to spend large this summer. They have basically undermined the ruling and rendered it pointless.

They've thrown the ruling back at UEFA and basically told them they couldn't give a ****. Would've been nice if they were stripped of any honours achieved whilst in breach of the rules. Until that happens then these retrospective slaps are utterly meaningless IMO.

                    Clichy is homegrown I think

Used 21 probably because they got knocked out so early!

                            Just saw that.

Maybe there's lots we don't know but on the face of it it's incredible when stacked against what City (and possibly PSG) have got away with.

Licensing was mentioned as well. They failed the criteria to qualify for a UEFA club licence and therefore aren't allowed to compete.
