Pienaar will just be the new Kranjcar at Spurs IMO. Decent player but not good enough for a side wanting to challenge at the top end. Gonna be sub 8 times out of 10, surely.

Think Kranjcar was probably worth a punt for the pittance they paid for him, but £17m Bentley was a joke. Another example of double standards. Rafa got crucified for paying the same for Aquilani, yet good old 'Arry gets away with not even a murmur about Bentley.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Even though it may not have been Harry who signed Bentley, the club themselves did, and he was one of many expensive signings, which contribute to an absolute fortune that Spurs have spent, to get themselves into the top 4. The press hardly ever mention this. I believe Spurs are the PL's highest net spenders, on average and per season, other than Man City, for the last 4 years. Not a word of this in the press though.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post

Harry Redknapp must kiss pictures of Hicks every night. Their raping of LFC was the biggest weapon in Harry's arsenal, when it came to taking that 4th CL place from us.

Yes and i AM looking at both sides of the coin. And as of August 2010, based on an average NET SPEND figure for the past 4 years, only Man City had a higher figure than Spurs.Originally posted by I_AM_MAMRTIN View PostYou're a keen raiser of the 'money spurs spent' point... NET SPENDING 2006-2010
Average Per Season
Man City - £65.8m
SPURS - £16.5m
Aston Villa - £16.5m
Sunderland - £13.6m
Liverpool - £9.4m
Chelsea - £2.6m
Man Utd - £0.6m

It's kind of dwarfed by Citeh's though... Considering we're actually in the champs league as it stands and their not.
If it costs £16.5m to get into the champs league then so be it, assuming we can keep it up and stay there for at least a couple more years, then it will easily make that back and I consider it pretty impressive if you compare to City and Chelsea. The latter obviously not spending that much in recent years, but they certainly did to get the standing they have now.
Although stadium plans may **** our figures up completely, albeit it in the short term.
