Flanagan is having a great run but he's not a starter for me, would hope to have 2 better fullbacks at the club come next season, then him and another spare

I think Flanno is a better Left back than right back, or it seems so recently.

      Anyone reckon we'll sell Enrique?

I agree on flanno and left back but I don't think we'll be splashing out on two fullbacks this season so a natural left back is more likely I reckon.

No one will take him, surely his career with us is over though?

The two Milan teams were touted as likely suitors in one of the sunday papers IIRC.

I hope Enrique can get back to full fitness for next season. Still a fan of his but a bit of mystery what has happened with this injury.

Haha, I've just read Marcus' posts quoted. Haha.
                        Oh I don't know.

There's no way Johnson is a liability. You could debate whether he's done enough to earn a new contract with / without a payrise, and we have debated that. But a liability? No.

I think we ask a lot of out full backs which can leave them exposed. They have to be the out ball in attack and also get back and defend. Not easy. Often if a team breaks on us we almost have a back 3 (Gerrard and the CB's) with Flanno and Johnson filtering back.

Against one of the most expensively assembled attacks in history our defence coped fairly well. City came back into the game big time, and that was not down to any poor play - just the ebb and flow of a football match against a quality team.

Johnson cleared the ball of the line at 2 nil, and for my money had a decent if not spectacular game. We are top of the league and on our day I don't see a weakness in the team. Johnson is a fine player, an experienced player - exactly what we will need in the champs league next season .

                              He's no liability.

I think that is a really sound point. The only other teams whose fullbacks play as advanced a role are Spurs and Arsenal that I have seen this season. Both there defences were torn apart by good teams and often exposed by the mediocre. We've been much better than either in big games at least. I think people are prone to expecting far too much from our defenders.
