I've been a Johnson apologist for years now. He's ****in dead to me after this season.

I think the problem with Johnson is he can't deal with pace, the quick guy up against him at the end, had him all over the place, I think part of the problem with him defensively this season is that in previous years he's had someone in front of him who could support him and this year because of the way we play he's been left exposed.

I think Johnson is still a decent player the problem is the way he fits into the system, he is obviously better going forward than defending (we've known that for years) . Johnson gets forward a hell of a lot and as such is going to get caught out of position, he does a lot of running I think it is inevitable that he will get caught out at times because we are expecting him to contribute in all areas of the field. IMO with the set up we have at the moment I would sacrifice the attacking aspects of a full back for someone with more defensive responsibilities.

We'll always concede goals the way we play. It's not Johnson's fault. We should have been more than capable of seeing this game through, with 10 minutes left. As a team we just dropped deeper and deeper and deeper.

We don really have the players to replace him right now. As for next season... Hard to say without knowing what we can spend or how many we're replacing. What is evident is that he's not a good defender and thats something we need to improve on, our defending. If Roy picks him for England we'll be able to see exactly how bad he really is now against far superior players. I don't have anything against him, just would prefer a defender that can actually defend and stop people.

I'm not singling him out. I'm saying his season long performance and last season too. A full back should be able to attack. But he should be able to defend as well. Needs to do both. Really really needs to.

Luis get singled out, and so does Gerrard and Coutinho, for scoring us goals and winning us games. It's only natural that Glen gets singled out for giving away goals and losing us games.
