Johnson is a problem, but so is Gerrard. He hasn't recovered from last season's exertions and disappointments and seems like a shadow of his former self. He needs a rest.

I'm not defending Johnson, but **** I'm not sure how anyone could anticipate whatever the **** Lovren was up to there. And neither of them would have been anywhere near that position if Mignolet didn't use his impressive kicking skills to somehow hit that dead ball straight out...

When 3 of 4 players (Johnson included) create a cluster**** I believe it's all of their faults. They all played their part in that.

Just that vine alone shows exactly what Johnson was doing. Sweet **** all:

1. We have a thrown in situation, where is Johnson supposed to be? Lovren is clearly marking Bolasie so what's Johnson's role?
2. His role must therefore be to stop the player infront of Bolasie from getting any sort of touch. Get up his back and don't let him jump for that header.
3. OK, so the header is lost and alarms should be sounding. Bust a gut to get behind Lovren now! He's the CB out of position and anything can, and does, happen.

Johnson is out of position and is choosing to or lazily not following instructions on a thrown in. He's in no man's land at all times. His awareness is zero. His attitude to chase anything back is less than adequate. This wasn't in the 90th minute either.

Not defending Johnson but i presume he was up the pitch as he wasnt ecpecting Mignolet to boot it out from his kick, If the throw in was taken quickly you could understand his position, But you can't forgive his lazy arse attitude not to try and get back into defence after Lovrens lovely headed pass to Bolasie.

The West Ham (Edit: WTF? Obviously I meant Palace. These small teams beating us are all merging into one to me. ) players seemed to be in position to take that throw in, almost as per training ground. Which implies it wasn't that quick a throw in to get everyone set, maybe I don't remember it properly. If Mig had kicked the ball out then the West Ham players would be in a defensive pose, therefore unable to take such an attacking throw in with so many players perfectly positioned.

Anyway, its done now and we all accept Johnson is sh*t.

To me he seems like the player most easily influenced by the confidence mood of the team. I don't think he was as bad as many make out lats season but at times this he has looked lost/disinterested. I'm not sure that appearances aren't deceptive but as a senior player we need him to stand up and be counted and at the minute that isn't happening.

He's started to show the tics that made me wary before we signed him.
