He hasn't though, as those are the same quotes he made earlier, only with a different stance to the article.

Indeed, looks like we might have kept sulky boy after all.

Chelsea had a £36m bid for Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez rejected by the German club last month. "I only found out about the offer after the club had turned it down," said the 25-year-old Germany international. "But it wouldn't have mattered anyway. I am already at a top club and I am playing where I always wanted to." (Full story: Sport Bild) (From beeb gossip).

Then Hodgson went and he improved a bit, but not to the previous standard of 2-3 years ago.

Will be interesting to see how he does next season, with a summer off.

lol a couple of things i have seen/heard these last few days

firstly - loads and loads of chelsea fans complaining about signing him -waste of money, unbalances the side, clearly not an ancelloti signing but abramovich, another shevchenko, etc etc - loving that.

but there was someone think on talksport, ex pro - who said something like

"looking at torres against liverpool - he looked like someone just lacking a little match sharpness and not 100% fit yet"

I thought....hang on a minute....thats what we used to say, in defence to his performances, whilst everyoe else (media/oppostion fans) told us it wasn't that, it's because he's lost his head and wants to move...

Surely by now...he has played enough games for liverpool in the run up to his chelsea debut to have got his match fitness/sharpness back - plus being a debut you'd expect he'd want to prove a point - surely this excuse of sharpness and fitness no longer stands........

it was as bad a debut as i can remember....and myabe it's part of me being a bit of bitter cunt, hoping he never recaptures his best for us and becomes a £50m flop - but it could be possible that...yeah he is past his best

He still a class footballer, and he will score goals but will he ever get close to what he did at liverpool when he first burst into the premier league - i am starting to think(maybe hope too granted ) that he won't - and for £50m....you want the fernando torres of his first two years in england, not the last 18 months

The thing is, the idiot could have recaptured his early Liverpool form under the guidance of The King. He will regret leaving, if he does not already.

I think we got the best anyone will see out of torres, injuries have probably stopped him from reaching his potential but.

i think part of his last interview starts to indicate some of it - backtracking on the big club statement - already caused liverpool fans to mock him, chelsea fans to say what the **** and the media to have a little dig too - he always talks about the 10 days being whirlwind and mental, and he's still trying to get to grips with what happened.

he's ****ed up he's sold his soul for a shot at silver. Hopefully in 12 months time, carroll and suarez are banging them in and torres is struggling and we will be thinking "wow - that was the best transfer window we ever had"

It is sad to see players not being able to play at their best because of injuries.

With the I mean in general and not only what happened to Torres.

Chelsea's record signing Fernando Torres plans to repay the club's massive outlay on his services by banging in the goals.

The Spain international moved to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool on transfer deadline day for a whopping £50million fee.

Torres failed to find the back of the net on his Blues debut against his former team-mates, but is backing himself to come good.

The 26-year-old marksman knows the price Chelsea have spent securing his signature and he now dreams of helping the club win the title.
                              Goals

"As a striker I'm asked for goals so I'll pay in goals," he told The S*n.

"I still haven't seen Roman Abramovich. To put so much money down for me speaks of his dreams to keep on making history.

"We want to repay him for this effort. I have to pay my debt on the pitch. It's beautiful he paid so much for me.

"When the season started I expected to play a lot to forget about my injuries, but Liverpool didn't start well.

"There was no light at the end of the tunnel. An incredible door opened for me when there was six months of fight ahead of me. Now I can fight for what I've always dreamt about fighting for."

                              Departures

Torres insists the sales of Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively meant that he eventually knew his future lay away from Merseyside.

"People on the outside can't understand some things about football," he continued.

"The problem was that when Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano left I could only see a light at the tunnel when Chelsea opened the door.

"It just happened that my time came to leave. In time I hope Liverpool fans understand.

"I would like to return to Liverpool and be recognised. I only have gratitude towards the people, the club and everybody in Liverpool."

He just doesnt know when to button it. And as for giving an interview to that rag...he was never one of us and he never will be. "In time i hope Liverpool fans understand" - shame you dont, you dirty little fraud.
