As for lacking class as a fan, so what!
if its ok for fans to lack class why do we expect more from players?

it is after all a job to them.

I presume that both deals will conclude simultaneously. Imagine if the Carroll deal is done and Torres either fails medical or fails to agree terms before 11pm. Or vice versa.

Think it's more then other way around now tbh. I'd expect that Carroll is all done and we're just waiting on Nando to sign for them.

Torres......It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

Now feck off Nando, we have a new strike force to pin our hopes and dreams on. Enjoy plastic Chav land mate. x

                      Ah, it's a real shame.
                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Nando was given promises again and again and he accepted those promises again and again, even though previous ones had turned out to be false. Most of those were based around how new owners were the answer. Yet, when the transfer window opens all we deo is offer half the asking price for players. I despaired of us buying anyone, and I think Nando did too. In my view it is no coincidence that we upped our offer for Suarez only after Nando asked us to consider Chelsea's offer. From a keeping Nando point of view, the Club has handled this transfer window badly.

Just how many times do we expect a young man of Nado's talent to turn the other cheek when he is slapped in the face?

So I think we should accept that what will be will be. I hope he has an awful game next week against us, but generally I wish him all the best. Kenny is right though; no player is bigger than the Club and the best clubs have players that all want to play for them.

I was amazed and impressed he stayed last summer to be honest. Might have been better all around if he had gone.

But he's been lied to so often by those in charge previously I can see why he wanted to go. I cant imagine he was promised he'd spend months chasing hoofballs for Hodgson and more seasons outside the CL. The club has a new start now but it will take time. Having left Atletico to win trophies, I can understand why he doesnt want to spend any more time. It would be a travesty for someone of his talent to finish his career without a single club medal.

The Chelsea thing is what hurts. And the way he's leaving. But its a million miles from Owen or McManaman for me. He gave incredible service while he was here, broke all sorts of records and the club's made a massive profit on him leaving. At a time when we need to rebuild, we may end up better off, depressing as it seems now.

He may not end up a club legend but he was certainly a great while he was here.

Exactly. Put us in an impossible position. Lied through his teeth. Has shown a contemptable attitude under Hodgson. Great player. Scored great goals. But **** you Torres. If he's have moved to a foreign club, he would have gone down as an all time legend. And I think he would have left with the best wishes of everyone at the club. Shame.

Really hard pill to swallow seeing him go to Chelsea. If he'd had waited until the summer he would have had a number of clubs to choose from. When you've played for Liverpool, there are some clubs that you can't play for and he's done the sacrilege of going to one of them. I wish him well but hope he doesn't win anything with Chelsea.
                                Are we winning?
