It's a bit weird, David Gold has tweeted it's done, but no Offal announcement yet ?

Do West Hams web site have it as official breaking news i wonder.

So with loan fee etc. we recouped about half of what we paid

Must be one of the worst transfers in the history of the club! Well it is the worst...

Didn't work out for him, doesn't fit the new managers system and wish him all the best at WH, needs a team that will play to his strenghts.

Assuming he's including last seasons loan fee's, though as I have no idea what they were off the top of my head that's a guess.

Then again you probably did and no one - me included - paid a blind bit of notice.

We decided that we wanted £15m plus Carroll based on initial valuations, kept going back to Chelsea as Newcastle demanded more and more for Carroll, and eventually Chelsea paid us £50m for Torres. Very odd circumstances, that led to both Torres and Carroll being saddled with inflated fees that the press could use to beat them with.
Thanks for that, very clear. It makes it all seem much more sensible.

I wish you'd put it all like that about two years ago though. It might have saved a lot of hassle on here.

I hope he does well there, I've got nothing against him in the slightest, it was 100% the club's fault.

Andy Carroll has joined West Ham United on a permanent deal. Didn't work out for him at Liverpool but wish him all the best.
