OMG, it's the Aquilani situation all over again.
      Are we winning?

A bit of a drama by all accounts...

Andy Carroll may not kick a ball for his new club this season.

The 22-year-old England striker, signed for £35million last week, is still struggling to overcome a thigh muscle tear that has kept him out of action since December 28.

Newcastle initially claimed that the injury would see him sidelined for a fortnight.

However, medical experts, who treated Carroll at the time, said he was more likely to face at least a two-and-half month lay-off.

The Mirror are usually pretty reliable. Hope they're bull****ting with this one tho.

That article is based around this source less claim:
Newcastle’s decision to sell their top scorer last Monday was partly precipitated by their own fears that he may not play again for them during the current campaign.
So the source is a very bitter and under pressure Newcastle trying to further placate their furious fans.

It's a very flakey article for me, so it will be interesting to see if this comes out in a more credible fashion.

He did say he was back in the gym in an interview earlier this week so maybe it's not as bad as the mirror suggests. Effing hope not.

Is Andy Carroll heading down the same road to ruin as Gazza?

A BOOZY six-hour bender out on the Toon, knocking back beer and potent Jagerbombs, ended around dawn when

Andy Carroll fell off a barstool, clutching his already crocked right thigh in agony.

That was three weeks ago, before the former Newcastle striker was unveiled as Liverpool’s record £35million signing.

                      It’s a sobering sum.

And no doubt Liverpool fans are praying the fizz surrounding their new King of the Kop won’t go as flat as it did for the other Geordie superstar with whom Cazza bears striking similarities – Gazza.

He and Paul Gascoigne were born a few streets apart, raised in the same tough neighbourhood and went to the same school.

Showing promise on the pitch from an early age, they both played at the same boys’ club, excelled in Newcastle United’s junior teams and went on to be capped for England,

Oh, and both are party animals with reputations for behaving badly.

It's a ****ing thigh strain FFS, no big deal.

Can take a while to heal but it's hardly a career ender! Just another ****ty sensationalist headline

Oh **** off the press. They don't come from streets apart as Rowan would attest. One is Gateshead, the other is Dunston. There's a similair distance between those places as Dunston to Gosforth where Shearer is from, which is a pretty ****ing sweet place to live.

Newspaper hype. Kenny got it right in his press conference when he picked up on the first inkling of their negativity. He hasn't even played and they want a ****ing soap opera.

Plus if he has as good a career with us as Gazza had I'm A-****ing-OK with that

hope it's no biggie mate, cannot wait to see Carroll in action, tbh i'm more excited about him than Suarez.
Not taking anything away from Suarez, it's just i've saw Carroll in action more and i've been impressed every time. he's my kind of player too.

typical of the press really, if Andy wants to go out for a bit of a tear up every so often that's fine, hes 22 ffs, what do you expect? obv he'll have to keep out of trouble when he's out on the town but he doesn't have to be told really.
