Hopefully but its just at the enquiry stage. I'm sure Shelvey will want this move if it happens, give him a chance to prove himself in the prem.

I still think he will develop into a good player. He is still young enough to come good. I dont see the point in selling any young player until they hit 22-23. By that time you will know if they will be good enough, and you will get a better price than for a teenager, as they will be ready for first team football. I cant imagine their wages are that much of a burden, and if so, more reason to loan them out.

He has just hit 21, so I think a season out on loan, and then see what he has learned the next preseason, and if he is not up to scratch, sell him. I do not think the price we would fetch for him now will make that much of a difference to who we can buy anyway.

had high hopes for him - he has some ability but he hasn't quite kicked on or taken his chances

if we sign mkhsyrsytrenannrean then i'd take £5m for Shelvey with some sort of buy back option and sell on clause

Loan him out but if we are really tight for money and 5m is the difference between getting a quality player or not then take the money.

I tend to agree. I think at the minute we need to get as many funds as we can to improve the first team - Shelvey needs experience we can't afford to give him IMO. A loan might provide that but going down that route would leave us with less to spend now.

If we get offered anything near £8m we need to take it - may not get that kind of offer again. He has had ample opportunities here and not really fitted into this new style.

                        +1.

If they offered £5m I'd take it.

I'd get rid, he doesn't have the [Rafa] mentality [/Rafa].

Any player that is in and around the first team but gets knocked down to reserve level but still gives 100% (as Jonjo does) has the right mentality.
It's not his mentality that is the problem (imho) it's his lack of mobility and his wastefulness in front of goal. A major problem for a player whose best position is attacking midfield.

Yep completely agree. He's just turned 21 FFS. Okay he's no Coutinho but he could develop into a very good player. His problems IMO are his inability to resist acting on instinct *all the time* and he seems to have a bit of an ego. I like his confidence but he needs to make sure it doesn't become unwarranted arrogance.

No chance of us selling him IMO, 1st thing Rodgers did was give him a new 4 or 5 year deal.
Get him out on loan for a season, all he lacks is experience
