    A weird but talented player.

We shouldn't sell him for £6m but he would probably not get many games, the price would go down and it is a big risk that he would start to moan.

Swansea will get a player that have the same problem as Suarez. A player that want to win so much that he will do stupid things on the pitch.

If they can sort out his mentality problem then they will have signed a very good player.

I think £6M for him is about right at this stage in his career with us, he's not managed to force his way into the first team and is unlikely to get much game time this season.

I'd probably prefer a loan deal but I guess we could do with the money to strengthen elsewhere.

Not sure where he is going:

Midfielder Jonjo Shelvey looks set to leave Liverpool FC after Crystal Palace tabled an offer of around £5million.

The Premier League new boys have jumped ahead of Swansea City in the race to sign the 21-year-old midfielder.

Palace had initially hoped to take Shelvey on a season-long loan but with Liverpool only interested in a permanent deal they have made a decisive move to secure his services.

The Reds, who had hoped to bank up to £7million for the young England international, are considering the Londoners’ bid.

Swansea have also held talks with Liverpool over Shelvey but much will now depend on the player’s preferred destination.

Given the clause we put in Ince's deal when we sold him it's almost certain we'll put a buyback option in this as well.

True, but we've been foolish with our transfer dealings in the past.

Won't really be missed here, especially if we sign Mikhi. Seems like a decent lad though (assumption taken from his twitter ) so I wish him all the best if he does leave.

Very happy with £6m. Basically we've swapped him for Luis Alberto who looks a more talented player, and more suited to our style. Good deal that.

probably the right decision for both parties. shame though cos i rate him. he just has never taken his opportunities. as a sub he would come on and get immediately booked and as a starter he wouldnt show up

Not sure about that. I mentioned I spoke to a lady who was his ex and even she (as thick as she was) said he won't ever make it because of his attitude - she said he is way too cocky. But then she was his ex and may just have been bitter.

That aside, he is a quality player and he needs regular games to fulfill his potential.

Also think he will become a very good Prem player.
I think you generally get less when a player moves down the foodchain of clubs. I'm not all that worried about values, what is important is how much better our squad is when the season starts.

I agree he'll make a good player. I think Michu will be a good role model for him. If Shelvey can use his energies better and add a bit of composure then I think he could become an international regular.

He needs regular football which is what we cannot give him.

He is immature but talented and given his age and potential there is a still chance that he can turn into a very decent footballer.
the buy back clause or the sell on percentage clause.

i dont think this is the end of shelvey but he needs to play regularly which we cant accomodate.

So would she be qualified to know what it takes to 'make it'?

TBF he does seem quite cocky, but he seems to come across well on Twitter and seemed to get involved in a lot of charity events through the club and would often be seen at Academy matches, so appears decent enough.
