The thing is, that comes naturally in a player. Ashley Cole said himself, off the field he's a quiet person but on the pitch his personality just changes when his passion comes through. Shelvey has something that is difficult to teach, its hard to say how he'll develop but I'd be gutted if we loaned him out.

                  New contract

Jonjo Shelvey has today signed a new contract at Liverpool Football Club.

The 20-year-old put pen to paper on the long-term deal at Melwood on Tuesday morning to commit his future to the Reds.

The Jonj moved to Anfield from Charlton in May 2010 and has made 37 appearances for the first team.

The midfielder spent time on loan at Blackpool last season before returning to Liverpool to score two goals in 16 run outs, including a stunning long-range strike against Chelsea in the final home game of the campaign.

That's OK......rumbling along at the moment.

Looks half-pissed in that pic though.

Good news. Think he will be a big player for us in 5 years.

Decent squad player. Hope he can develop well under Rodgers.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
