He's progressing nicely, is Jonjo. Putting daylight between himself and Henderson.

I've been very impressed with Shelvey this season. He loses his concentration at times and doesn't always make the right choice, but those issues will fade as he gets more experienced. He's got the "it" factor, the assertiveness, the confidence and faith in his own ability and the drive to succeed. He's certainly a future regular first team starter and based on form, when Lucas is back, Gerrard should be the one to make way, not Jonjo (though it'll never happen).

He also looks cool as ****.

Not sure about that bit lol.

The rest I agree with, he has a certain swagger and confidence in his play that I like. It may not always work for him but he is not afraid to express himself, like Raheem. And that bodes well and fits in well with our philosophy.

He's got the Collina look, and Collina was a tough mofo.

In yesterday’s Sunday Mirror, they have some opta stats beside the match report. Apparently Jonjo was the fastest payer on the pitch, when the ball was either in play or out of play (can’t remember which). Faster than Raheem.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

But not cool, IMO. He also has the Dr Evil look, and he is not really that cool either tbf.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Jonjo improved drastically in fairly short period of time but as every young player he lacks consistency.

Saturday wasn't his best game but he still did ok.

One thing he really needs to work on is his tackling as in almost every match he has one that is almost borderline red card.

He will need to curb that impulsiveness as it will not only sideline him for while but also cost the team but that aspect of his game should improve with experience.

Had a barney about Shelvey at the weekend, with a Spurs supporting mate. He went to the England U21 game last week. First and only time he's ever seen him play live. Shelvey apparently stank the place out 2nd half (he was playing quite well in what I saw of the 1st half).

Here's what he said about Shelvey

"I tell you what that Shelvey ain't good enough. Saw him for the U21s on Monday and he was dreadful. Worst player on the pitch"

"He is not good enough, I'm telling you now. He's a Wigan player at best, not a Liverpool one."

"Headless chicken. No poise at all. He's not good enough you are kidding yourself if you think he is."

"I've seen more than enough of him to deduce he's not good enough."

"Piss poor he is, he will never play for England and you're deluded if you think he will He's infinitely inferior to Jakey Livermore for a start."

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
