Granted that can take only so far but I personally think he will make it in PL but I don't think he'd ever be good enough to start for us.
Read that line and thought of Joey Barton.

I think he'll be a good PL player but his lack of pace and discipline will limit what level he will reach.

EDIT: then I read the rest of your post and probably should have just

      Good luck to him.

If we were rich then a loan would've been ideal. But him moving now (with Rodgers' signings coming in) then we've timed it right.

It went tits up after the United red card but he'll have a good career in the PL.

Best of luck to the lad. I liked him and thought he always gave his all for the shirt. Plus he will always be remembered for given both barrels to bacon face which makes him great in my book.

Like I said before, he will learn a lot and should improve under Laudrup. Will be interesting to see him develop.

                        Seems like he means it.

                        Best of luck Jj.

Good luck to Jonjo, had hopes for him and still think he can turn out a decent PL midfielder. But probably found a club closer to his level and he will get some more regular game time there.

Good buy from Swanseas as well I reckon.

Michael Laudrup has accepted that his team are unlikely to be firing on all cylinders when their Europa League adventure begins at the Liberty a week on Thursday.

Preparation time has been short, inevitably, for Swansea’s season will start earlier than ever before.

But Laudrup believes his players will be in good enough shape to give them a realistic chance of progressing to the next stage of the Europa League.

The draw may not have been particularly kind but, regardless of who they play, Swansea already look like an effective unit.

Even without Wilfried Bony, Laudrup’s men racked up five goals without reply at Yeovil Town to make it five victories from five pre-season games.

There was a time not so long ago when Swansea and Yeovil were relatively fierce lower-league rivals.

Both clubs have come on since then, with Yeovil looking ahead to a first ever season in the second tier and Swansea building towards a third crack at the Premier League.

Swansea’s preparations have run fairly smoothly so far, though the absence of Bony here was a disappointment.

Laudrup’s new £12 million centre-forward was absent – and is likely to be once more at Exeter on Sunday – because his work permit has not yet been granted.

Also missing was Chico Flores, who is back on these shores having returned home following the death of his father but is nursing a thigh strain.

Both Bony and Flores are likely to start when the competitive stuff kicks off for Swansea but, even in their absence, the starting XI was fairly strong here.

Two of the summer’s arrivals, Jordi Amat and Jonjo Shelvey, were included from the outset.

And not for the first time during pre-season, Shelvey was prominent, the £5 million former Liverpool man pulling the strings in Laudrup’s midfield.

Shelvey has come to Wales in search of regular starts and, though there is hot competition in that department, he has done his cause no harm in the last couple of weeks.

Shelvey played a big part as Swansea took a 27th-minute lead, robbing Yeovil trialist Nana Ofori Twumasi – who was immediately substituted – and feeding Pablo Hernandez.

He slipped a neat pass through for Michu, and last season’s leading marksman finished in typically cool fashion, taking a touch and then rolling the ball into the far corner.

Swansea were in charge of possession for much of the first half, though the home side rallied as the interval approached.

First Glovers midfielder Ed Upson drove wide from distance, then Byron Webster strode forward from the back and teed up Kevin Dawson, whose driven shot was beaten away by Michel Vorm.

Swansea’s goalkeeper was making his first appearance of pre-season, and he was soon in the action again, racing off his line to snuff out Paddy Madden.

Vorm’s save of the night came early in the second half, when he bravely came out to deny former Newport man Sam Foley.

Swansea were stuttering a little, but they suddenly stepped on the gas and left Gary Johnson’s team behind.

Pablo Hernandez might have scored after some lovely footwork by Alejandro Pozuelo, but his right-foot effort drifted across the face.

No matter. Within a few minutes Pozuelo and Hernandez combined sweetly again, and Nathan Dyer benefited as he tapped in at the far post.

Shelvey drilled over as Yeovil wilted, then Wayne Routledge escaped down the left and centred for Hernandez.

This time the Spanish international gobbled up his chance, sidefooting the ball into the top corner from point-blank range.

Now Hernandez was enjoying himself, and he claimed an assist as Rory Donnelly scored the goal of the night.

When Hernandez crossed accurately from the right, Donnelly steered a delightful volley beyond Marek Stech from 12 yards.

There was a nice touch from the Yeovil Tannoy man near the end, who wished Laudrup and his team all the best in the new season.

But Swansea showed no mercy as another goal with a distinctly Spanish flavour arrived in the last minute.

This time Hernandez fed Rangel down the right, and his pull-back was met decisively by Pozuelo to round off a successful night.

Didn't see it tonight but read he was half decent in a slightly deeper role.
