I do sort of agree with you guys, but how old was Sami when he left? And he must have been on pretty high wages.

Neither Carra now, or Sami when he left, are at the level of almost being in the very top bracket of CBs in the world - which is what i equate £90k p/w towards being.

In fairness, Suarez is a young player, unproven in the top league and coming from a poorer/smaller league in Holland - he was never going to be on megabucks.

Carra should be on around £60k IMO. And Suarez around £50k, would be fair.

Babel was on 60k/week contract being no name and coming from the same league.

I think transfer fee speaks loud enough about Suarez.

He is already established international that not only made his name in Dutch league but also played exceptionally well at the biggest stage WC.

Imo no way that 24 year old upcoming superstar should be paid less than 32 year player that already past his best.

The agent of Dirk Kuyt has confirmed plans to open new contract talks at Liverpool.

Rob Jansen says the Dutch attacker is keen to extend his stay at Anfield, despite admitting being tempted by interest from Inter Milan in the summer.

"Both Dirk and Liverpool have expressed their intention to prolong their desire to remain connected to each other," Jansen said after meeting with Reds chief Damien Comolli yesterday.

"We talked about the future at Liverpool.
