Remembering the arguments we used to have on here about him I'm shocked nobody's mentioned Cisse yet?
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Here's another
I want Man Utd to win the league this season and couldn't give a **** about 'the record'. It's so long since we won it and 'the record' has been overplayed to the point where it's a huge burdon and monkey to the club. Once we don't hold 'the record' anymore, perhaps we can relax as a club and start to build for the future instead of comparing everything to the past.
Our achievements and ours alone, and shouldn't be measured against anyone else's. After 20 years of not really competing for the league title, I don't think measuring our successes from another era alongside recent successes of the mancs bear any relevance. And, our banging on about history is far worse than any other club. To lessern and belittle Chelsea's recent league achievements, especially the lack of quantity of league wins, is straw clutchingly embarrassing and cringeworthily arrogant.
IMO of course. Let's see about consequences now

To a degree there's a good point there but I'd say 'underperformed' instead of 'overrated'. He was astonishingly brilliant but yet did it with the minimal effort. He could've been so much better had he worked on his fitness moreOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostFowler: overrated
Yeah, I actually agree. Silly game this.

not as radical as you too but United....
I hate them, i hate their fans, i hate their players and i ****ing detest their manager....but i also secretly respect what they have done and achieved the last 20 years - it's so ****ing hard to stomach
I too also don't give a **** anymore about 'our' record - it's long gone to me and i feel we cling onto the past a little too much and i am hoping that once the record goes, it will be a burden off our shoulders and the cataylst for the club to wake itself up and come fighting back.
It's a bit of a dead arguement for me the league titles thing - i remember having this arguement with a manc mate back in uni - he was giving me **** cause liverpool were crap - i was giving him **** because we were the best team due to our success.........this was 10 years ago!!! 10 ****ing years ago - and here we are still clinging on to that same arguement
- a bit **** when you haven't won a title for what 20 yearsor so
I just feel that whilst history is important - it's time to let it go slightly and concentrate on the future......Lets get to 20 titles in the next two or three years and then start bragging again
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I think football is the most overrated team sport in the world at the moment and would love to see it return to 3pm kick offs with very little live TV games.
I think FIFA are right to push for European leagues to schedule there games. March - Nov. Its the future and we should adapt
lol i don't think thats radical

In support of norbert it would most likely mean Fergie steps down and that would really be fantastic news, one of the best, if not the best manager in the world and he will be much harder to replace than anyone else. Let them win this season and then get someone else in that will have no clue how he got such a mediocre squad to the semi's of the CL, win the PL and who knows in the FA Cup!

Amen to all of that, apart from the tiny bit about respectOriginally posted by PTP View Postnot as radical as you too but United....

The time was going to come sooner or later that they'd beat the record, meh. I've spent half my life without seeing another league title, and it's taken this long for someone to beat the old record. This tells me that our history is ancient and shouldn't play a part of any argument these days. Let's create a new list of honours, and enjoy them in the present. I envy Chelsea too for their league titles, but have no respect for them either.

I hated Houllier with a passion and still do - infact I blame him entirely for killing our style of play and promoting a negative image of the club. If he hadn't been sacked I don't think I would have followed the club as closely as I still do."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

I find Cricket more interesting to watch than Football.
Roberto Martinez is one of the best young Managers out there.
I still like Owen
Id take Torres back in a heartbeat and feel sorry for him as he has been badly advised.
I have more extreme views. But they can wait.*Except Michael, who died.
