If Jose had toned it down a bit the focus might have been targeted at Barca's unsporting behaviour, which is certainly not being criticised enough in this polarised Barca vs Jose debate. He certainly shot himself in the foot with his reaction to the first leg.

that's why i lost respect for Madrid a long time ago, they want it every which way. Much like the England job IMO a bit of a poison chalice.

Barcelona could have ignored it all and tried to play their normal way or they could have done as they did, anything to win - exaggerating or feigning injuries, diving, pressurising the referee, etc.

So Madrid's choice of tactics invited Barcelona's tactical response. To blame the latter more than the former, as some on here are doing, seems to me to be wilfully perverse.

The thing that I can't stand is that Barcelona are viewed as the beauty of football incarnate and that they can do no wrong. Madrid tried to stifle them and clearly aren't as good, Carvallho(sp) should have got a second yellow and they were beating on Messi like a rag doll BUT they were even more disgraceful in my opinion given that they already had the tools to dismantle them. It's not an acceptable response to cheat under any circumstances. Spain didn't feel the need to behave like Barcelona when Holland brought similar Real tactics to them.

Btw this talk of Mourinho being sacked is unbelievable after he's got Real to the Champions League semis(first time they've been there in years) winning the Copa Del Rey - Real' first time winning it in 8 years and finishing 2nd to the best side in Europe by a mile.
Question his tactics, his conduct and all the rest but to question his future at Real is crazy stuff imo.

Nah, that doesn't make sense to me. Basically you're more critical of Barcelona because they normally play better football. At best that's irrelevant I'd have thought.

I agree. They may have behaved differently but neither was any better than the other. At least Messi scored one good and one great goal.

But, given he only scored one wonder goal when he might have scored more, maybe Chrono thinks that makes him worst of all.
