It's only 3 more wins or something. I'm sure we wouldn't gave turned out some of the turgid, inept attacking performances under Kenny than we did under Roy. Blackpool home, Blackburn away, Wolves home. Won those 3 and we'd be top 4, no?A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

It is a difficult one and I confess I may be being too harsh on him. He had a fantastic home record as you say, sullied only by having to promote the interests of the military-industrial complex as an effect of his less than successful foreign misadventures.Originally posted by Rowan View PostHe's a very underrated President, although Caro also potrays him as a real arsehole. But he pushed through Medicare and wins huge points for the work on Civil Rights that those fabulous Kennedy boys bottled. He also got Bob McNamara his job with the World Bank.
Is that enough to amend for being the man who oversaw the mindless massacre of an ungodly number of his own countrymen?
Let's hope Caro finishes the series before he pops his clogs..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Craig to be fair to Rudo I sort of knowwhere he is coming from........And you know as well as I do Kenny may not have done as well from january if he started the season at the helm.Originally posted by Craig_HSo you dont think, with Kenny in charge, we would have beaten Blackpool, Wolves and Sunderland at Anfield then?
The club was still in limbo till October, I think Roy being so **** has really paved the way for Kenny to come in and rescue the club that was on its arse under Roy, we were not that bad under benitez!!
I sort of understand Marky, but only just._____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

thank you, am i saying something that's really so controversial? i think many other non Liverpool fans thought we wouldn't get top 4 at the start of the season simply because we didn't have the squad for it, and they were right.
We have the 6th best squad in the league, maybe 5th at a push, although Spurs have arguably a better one at this moment in time and funnily enough we'll finish either 5th or 6th.

Yeah, but every single team in the Premier League can look at back at this stage of the season and think 'damn it, if only we had got the win there, or nicked a point'Originally posted by Rowan View PostIt's only 3 more wins or something. You're completely missing the point. We had appalling form under one manager this season then excellent form under their new one. It's not a question of bemoaning bad luck, it's about the fact Roy stuck around stinking the place out as long as he did.Originally posted by Rudo View PostYeah, but every single team in the Premier League can look at back at this stage of the season and think 'damn it, if only we had got the win there, or nicked a point'
Looking at the rate we've accumulated points under Kenny, anyone saying there was no chance of us getting 4th even if he'd been our manager form the start of the season is a bit odd in my book.Like blood on iron

That is true but this is about whether approaching each game in a fundamentally different way would have altered the odds of us winning them. As opposed to arbitrarily picking individual matches or incidents that could have gone another way but assuming no change (or only minor changes) to the circumstances.Originally posted by Rudo View PostYeah, but every single team in the Premier League can look at back at this stage of the season and think 'damn it, if only we had got the win there, or nicked a point'
There is something in what red g says though in that it may have been hard for Kenny to have done as good a job whilst all the ownership nonsense was playing out."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

So it's not realistic to suggest that we'd have probably beaten Blackpool, Wolves and Sunderland at home, under Kenny? It's 'deluded' to think that, is it?Originally posted by RudoBlimeyyyyy!! Are you being serious?
I'm not a Liverpool fan, and i don't have any faith in Kenny Dalglish? No, i'm a ****in realist and not deluded...so because i think we have the 5th or 6th best squad in the league, and wouldn't have made 4th place regardless of who was manager at the start of the season, that automatically means i'm a scum supporter and have no faith in Kenny? Get a grip.
As for these games we lost under Hogdson - Blackpool, Wolves etc - please do remember that we also lost to Blackpool, West Ham and West Brom under Kenny and drew at home against Wigan.
The difference with those games Kenny lost (Blackpool, first league game, didnt deserve to lose, West Ham, hangover from Europa, WBA ****ed by a **** ref), is that unlike with roy, we didnt actually deserve to lose them. Under Roy, the opposition were the better side against us practically 90% of the games.
Not thinking we'd have been 4th under Kenny is fine, i disagree, but it's fine. But describing the notion that we would have done it, as 'deluded', is a bit silly.

I think you are confusing luck with choices. If Liverpool had chosen Kenny instead of Bodge, it is entirely feasible that we could be further up the league.Originally posted by RudoYep, Liverpool are the only team, EVER, to look back during the course of the season and be thinking if only we'd won here or there.
As for that City game, it was men against boys, we were comprehensively beaten. Was muß, das muß.

Yes, well that's fine, but don't go implying you're a realist and the rest of us are 'deluded' when there is some decent evidence that we would have stood a good chance of a top four finish if we'd started the season off with Kenny.Originally posted by RudoI don't think we were ever going to finish 4th with the current squad, if you disagree that's fine, but that's my opinion and we're all entitled to them.
If you can't resist calling others deluded, then maybe you should at least try not to be a ****house by reverting back to "we're all entitled to our opinion" once your argument's run out of steam.Like blood on iron

Up to 5th yeah, but imo we would never in with a chance of finishing 4th with this squad, not ahead of Man City.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI think you are confusing luck with choices. Btw Man City are 7 points clear of us, with a game in hand. It's not really that close, is it?

Here's a question for you ~ How many points do you think we lost due to **** Bodge tactics, demoralised team members and crap signings?Originally posted by Rudo View PostUp to 5th yeah, but imo we would never in with a chance of finishing 4th with this squad, not ahead of Man City.
