They cover the ground well (7 sec rule and all that). 3-2 situation everytime on those 2 of your midfield would get torn. Sneijder is lazy, he won't track back or press.

Backs up everything i've been saying for a year - the mancs dont have the money to buy a proper replacement. It all goes back to when they sold Ronaldo...if you've got £80m to spend, you go for David Villa and David Silva from Valencia, not Antonio Valencia and Michael Owen.

The money went on debt servicing - as does most of their cash. Hence the reason to give new contracts to the likes of Carrick, Fletcher, and now, laughably, Owen.

I think they'll have more money than they have had in previous summers but to be fair they'll need it as they have to replace van der Sar and Scholes before they can even think about strengthening

Would value Modric at or around £30m-£35m or so.

It would be a good deal for Spurs IMO as they desperately need a striker. Modric has IMO been their best player this year, but they'll have money to spend on a replacement and won't have to look for a striker.

Totally agree.

I don't think there's enough truly world class players out there who the big clubs could sign to lay down a worthwhile challenge to Barca. They have the best players, all playing together. IMO Messi, Xavi and Iniesta are the 3 finest players in the world, so short of buying one of them - or some of the incredible supporting cast of Busquets, Villa, Pedro, Alves or whoever - then everyone can just forget it.

As I've said before I think Barca's biggest obstacle to a clutch of more European Cups is desire/motivation.

A few clubs could have had a chance if they had signed Masch. He could have taken out a player like Messi or Xavi. Now Barca don't need to risk that.

I can't see any other player out there that could do that.

Barcelona don't have a weakness. They had that before they signed Masch.

Pep will leave sooner or later so who could replace him and could that be a problem? I doubt that it will be a problem. They will get in someone that play the same type of football. Klopp or Villas Boas. Rafa could be another option.

We played the same type of football. Not as good of course but still the same type of football.

Haha come on Arn, when we clicked under Rafa we played some immense football, notably in 08/09, but it was never tika-taka. We pressed almost as well as they do, but that's about it.
