I don't speak German but I know The Model in German is Das Model.

I saw it on the cover of a magazine.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

German has a pretty strict structure with sentences having to be written in the order of time, manner, place with the verb as the second element of the sentence and the infinitive, if the sentence requires one, being at the end

I've always wondered whether placing the verb at the end of the sentence was just a feature of formal, written Latin. I find it hard to believe the rule was adhered to regularly in spoken Latin.

In every conversation you'd be on tenterhooks waiting to find out at the end of the sentence what actually happened.

-Jemima Khan being granted superinjunction involving relationship with Jeremy Clarkson...

        - What? WHAT?!!

        - ...has denied.

        - Oh, boring that is. You were going to say 'has admitted' I thought.

The agent of Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero will be a VIP guest at Anfield today as Liverpool take on Spurs for the right to compete in next season’s Europa League. The Reds are thought to be lining up the Argentine as a marquee summer signing, although Bruno Satin’s presence at the match today is by no means concrete evidence of a done deal.

Satin is part of the management group that also represents Liverpool’s Maxi Rodriguez, and could well be a guest of his as opposed to attending on behalf of Aguero. The duo are close friends, and the Agueros actually spent last Christmas in Liverpool with the Rodriguez family.

T21plus Sportsmanagement GmbH, the player agent licensing group that represents the Argentines, may have no motive to be present at Anfield other than to enjoy the match courtesy of a close contact. Liverpool fans will be hoping otherwise, but they should bear in mind that Aguero has already stated his intention to honour his current contract with Atletico, which runs until 2014.

In addition to that he would cost upwards of £40m and have astronomical wage demands. While Liverpool could stretch to meet those costs if they really wanted to sign him, it is likely the player would opt for another destination if he was to move on before his contract expires.

He has also previously expressed a desire to play for Chelsea, and with Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka both approaching the twilight of their careers at the club, Aguero could choose to link up with former Atleti team mate Fernando Torres to form the next generation of strikers at Stamford Bridge.

I like Aquilani because he is a playmaker and looks quicker on the ball and more creative than Meireles. Would definitely keep Meireles as a squaddie though.

I would say that is between us and Chelsea. Maybe 65% chance that he will join Chelsea and 35% us.

In that case a small amount bet is certainly worth it.

                    Er, I think.

Thanks, I shall look into the German interpretation of Yoda. And Chomsky - he's always interesting. Very like you of course.

                    Who'd a thunk though - Yoda a German. Wow.

By the way, Neil, kudos for working a joke about Kraftwerk into a thread about Sergio Aguero.

Was he seen at Anfield yesterday? I'd say Man City and Chelsea are more likely a destination. I think we've needs in other area's before signing another striker even if it is Aguero.

because of his size and speed I always thought of him more as an impact sub to use when the opposition is worn down a bit
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
