      One left back.

      One central midfield playmaker.

One attacking player, could be a wide player. Depends on the system.

That is the three must signings. After that it is all about how KK want to build the squad and if our young players is ready to act as backups and play four five league games if we are forced to do it.

To sign a new central defender for example isn't a must. To sign a defensive midfielder isn't a must.

Poulsen is definitely on 50k. In fact even more, I remember read in an article saying he was on 3.25m a year which is ~65k a week but I toned it down. For Konchesky, yes he's deffo on that much. Experienced + Big club tax + English tax.

Craig, Darl, what did I tell you when it comes to my numbers? Just take then at face value and put a +/- 10% error of margin on it. Don't argue

Think hes on £60K per week plus
8m euros 3 yr contract, which is about 2.67m a year which is ~ 53k euros per week. Inflation adjustment + Forex effect meant, I rounded it off to about 45k pounds a week

Not sure Arn, i think a proper CB is needed too. Cant depend on Agger being fit, Carra's going downhill and Skrtel has consistency issues.

In fact, with Kelly coming back and the emergence of Flanagan and, to a lesser extent, Robinson (along with Johnson's return to form and his ability to slot into LB so seamlessly), i'd be inclined to think a CB might be a bigger necessity than a LB.

We've already got 2 in our first XI (Pepe and Suarez) and arguably aside from Barcelona, i dont think any team in the world has 7 or 8 players of that level.

I agree with Lec that we'll probably sign 5 or 6 players, but they wont all be proper TOP quality ones, 2 or 3 probably will be IMO and the rest will be good without quite reaching the heights of a Suarez or Reina quality of player. As Lec alludes to, squad players (without meaning Jovanovic types )
er that Stephan Gerard or whatever he is called ain't bad either

I think a central defender is an ABSOLUTE MUST

Firstly the Greek will probably leave, Agger whilst class is made of glass, that leaves Kelly, Wilson & Wisdom

They are very inexperienced in those positions (or in Kellys case not suited if what I'm told is accurate)

I was reluctant to mention him, given that two specific posters are currently actively posting on this thread. I didnt really want to go through the inevitable....

Yep a good CB is in my top priority list too. We can cover the LB slot some how. Glen/Kelly/Flanno/Jack/Carra(emergency) would mean we can rotate and use one of them there.

If there are no injuries at all. I'd have Glen at RB, Kelly at LB and teh others I mentioned for cover/rotation

I think we need BOTH frankly

They are absolute musts for me along with a central midfielder (holding player preferably) and a wide attacking player

Ideally both but if it came to one or the other, i think we can get by alright without a new LB. Not so much CB though.

in my opinion - i'd have left over centre back - we have'nt had a left back worthy of the name since John Arne Riise

Whilst i do agree we do need a centre back too (as well as a top centre mid and a two wide men with pace/creativity - not much to ask is it/) if it came down to it - one or the other no ifs or buts

£20m on a centre back who does really well

                                or

£20m on left back who does really well

I'd pick the left back - we don't have any! haha - i think with carra/skrtel - try and get 15 games out of agger, and kelly/wilson/kyriakos all here - we'd have enough to cope if we had too

                                but left back

we have robinson who whilst capable for 5 to 10 games as cover as he develops is well off being first team, and aurelio who is good for about, 1 in 4 games - so we might get 10 games out of him - yep it's going to take some convincing to get me to prioritise a centre back over left back
