I completely agree with as a person he was a cut above Fergie in the way he went about himself and his record was incredible.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostFair enough, and I think Ferguson has done an amazing job at Utd (hardly sticking my neck on the line with that).
But Bob Paisley was a cut above any other manager in my opinion. The way he conducted himself Ferguson could never achieve that. The amount of trophies he won in the time he was in charge. The teams he built and conquered England and Europe with. Ferguson is a fantastic manager for sure, but Paisley is a true great.
"If" he had managed for another decade, like i said god only knows what he could have achieved, but he didn't and Ferguson has been around for a ridiculous amount of time with one club, which is virtually unheard of in football.
For longevity at the highest level & the success he has achieved i'd say Ferguson. Hard to say about Paisley and compare as he didn't have the time at LFC that Fergie has had a the mancs.

Think their goal difference is far superior but possible.Originally posted by Rudo View PostCan Villa still go down? Can't be bothered working it all out
They've two difficult games - Arsenal away and us at Villa Park.

I think they can as things stand at the moment (it may not be the case after tomorrows games), but their goal difference makes it very unlikelyOriginally posted by Rudo View PostCan Villa still go down? Can't be bothered working it all out
They've two difficult games - Arsenal away and us at Villa Park. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

be some shock if it happened but who knows. They should just count themselves lucky there's only two games left.

Aye having a superior GD doesn't half help. I'm starting to think either Blackburn or B'ham will go down...B'ham really need to win tomorrow as they're at Spurs next week and you wouldn't fancy them there.
- Altho Spurs have dropped a lot of points at home.

You have to call Fergie a true great too, as much as it riles me to say so.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostFair enough, and I think Ferguson has done an amazing job at Utd (hardly sticking my neck on the line with that).

For Villa to go down they need a couple of heavy defeats and all of Wigan, Birmingham, Blackpool and one of Blackburn/Wolves to win all of their remaining games. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
