Not sure, I think he likes the history of United and would fancy a crack at making them a force again.

I'd not be pleased to see him at the Mancs

I'd love it if Utd gave LVG a contract extension right now.

Guardiola would be crazy to take Utd over City, one is edging into the sort of insidious long term decline that Liverpool has yet to escape from while the other could be a major player for years if managed correctly (ugh!).

I thought Pep to City was an open secret, no?

I'm not sure about Pep. He largely inherited a squad of worldies, won lots but at the first sign of pressure bailed out. Goes to Bayern inherits a squad of worldies and not only doesn't win the CL but gets embarrassed in the semis. Granted he may well win it this year.

I think Abramovich will try, but I reckon Pep will want something with a bit more stability. Although he knows folk at Man City, it has been said a number of times when manager of Barcelona how he admires Man Utd, and could see himself managing there.

I could see someone like Simeone at Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola's plan: Manchester United then Brazil

Spanish football journalist Graham Hunter reveals what Pep Guardiola is planning for after leaving Bayern Munich. Hunter has spoken to people close to Guardiola and believes the Spaniard would like Manchester United to be his next employers.

Hunter said: "If the cards fall his way, his wish is to sample life at Manchester United for a variety of reasons."

Those reasons include a transfer to Old Trafford that fell through late in his playing career. Hunter added: "The move didn't happen but when he's come back to Manchester subsequently he's looked at the Old Trafford atmosphere, the legends and he has felt 'this is right for me’."

Hunter also reveals that, if all goes to plan, Guardiola would want to take Brazil to the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
