Whatever about the semantics, I don't get how you can have a pop at Guardiola for "not taking a more challenging position" when Mourinho - who you're always so quick to eulogise about - has never done so in his life. Hypocritical.

At Inter he took over by far the best team in Italy. In Spain he took over the richest club in the world. He would be classed as a failure were he to leave Real in the summer having won nothing this season - which is likely.

Top class manager, no doubt. But Pep built a top class team that won games in their own style. As we can see at Liverpool now, winning in a style pleasing to the eye is not easy.
I could say Rikjaard laid the foundations for this Barca side and developed that passing game, Pep developed he pressing game.

Not saying Pep ain't a super manager, he clearly is. I was just disappointed not to see him take up a more challenging role is all.

How "disappointed" were you when Mourinho walked into titles-on-a-plate at Inter Milan and then the richest club in the world?

Eulogise? Come on, he's is world class manager & has won everywhere he has gone. That's not me praising him or inventing things.. just the way it is. I don't support Real or follow them in fact i can't stand them... but you are clearly a Barca fan & in turn a Guardiola fan so IMO you are more biased about this than i would be.

And i'm definitely not having a pop at Guardiola, merely saying i was disappointed.

            Over reacting a bit mate

Inter Milan were long shots for that champs league, just as Porto were.

I didn't say anything about the CL. I said titles on a plate. They'd won the previous three. Easy jobs. Seems you have one rule for "Jose" and another one for everyone else, that's all.

I agree with you on Mourinho, he clearly is an excellent manager.

However disagree about Pep and Bayern, it is a challenge for him (new country, language, no history/goodwill with the hierarchy or fans, different set of players etc).

Yes he could've taken over us for example () but why should he? he's in the winning trophy's and getting paid game, not prove who's the best manager in the world game.
                    We come not to play.

                        Fair points

I would have liked to see him in the premier league

Yep you're wrong - is this a Barca forum?

I'm not worked up the slightest ...just wondering why you don't apply the same rules to Mourinho. To claim Guardiola has taken an easy option and yet refuse to acknowledge Mourinho has made a career out of doing exactly that is quite funny.

Pep had nothing to gain by taking a challenge at this point in his career, that same as Jose.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on at Bayern, and if he can influence the squad there. He certainly has the players to do so.
The times they are a changin'.

You eulogise about Barca mate, i make a few comments about Mourinho and what he has achieved and suddenly i love him and eulogise about him.

I never said that the Chelsea job wasn't onto a winner, i just said he wo the league in his first season & other money clubs like Man City & PSG can testify that it's not a given.

I also didn't say Real madrid wasn't a cushy one, but the fact being Real beat one of the best side ever assembled by 9 points last season, not a bad achievement.

I am a big fan of Guardiola, his philosophy and he seems a cracking bloke, at the same time i don't hate Mourinho, i think he's a fantastic manager and is a character .... but let's not invent scenarios where me and Mourinho are exchanging valentines cards

I think we would all have (especially if he was our manager )
But in reality where would he end up, Chelsea, Citeh or United, none of which imo are a bigger challenge then Bayern.
If he does come to the Premiership i think it'll be United or possibly Arsenal.
                                We come not to play.
