I guess there's nothing to stop you doing it, it's essentially selling him now but not receiving payment for a year, so it's not really a loan deal.Originally posted by RedReet View PostCan you do such a thing?
I guess we could loan him out for a fee (like we should have done last year) and give the loaning club first option. Say we value him at £10m, we could loan him out for £2m and give them the option to buy him at the end for an additional £8m, that way if they want him at the end of the deal they have an incentive to do a deal within the specified time (otherwise the price goes up to £10m). Although in all honesty I can't see us loaning him out. IMO he will either stay with us and be involved or we will sell him.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Well that’s how we should have set up last years deal, but I think it would be too risky sending him on another years loan when there is risk of injury, he’ll be another year older and have one less year on his contract. All that would drive his price down even further if the deal falls through again.
I’ve just never heard of a deferred payment in football, so imagine there must be a reason why.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I guess you don't hear of it much because you usually only hear about the fee, the details of installments are usually kept quiet but paying in installments is common. I guess it doesn't happen because if the club doesn't have the money (or enough for some installment) now, then they probably aren't in the best place financially so you'd be worried about their ability to pay you in a years time.Originally posted by RedReet View PostWell that’s how we should have set up last years deal, but I think it would be too risky sending him on another years loan when there is risk of injury, he’ll be another year older and have one less year on his contract. I shall rephrase then, I have never seen it on FM.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI guess you don't hear of it much because you usually only hear about the fee, the details of installments are usually kept quiet but paying in installments is common. Nah, I honestly don’t know about the legalities of it all, but I’d be very wary selling to a club who would request such a deal, because as you say their financial position could be even worse the following year.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

IMO he can do a good job for us, our priority regarding wages should be to get rid of those on high wages that won't contribute (Cole, Poulsen, Jovanovic, Konchesky, Degen etc). If Aquilani is here he will be involved to some extent IMO, which is more than can be said for the others.Originally posted by danperkins View PostIMO we really don't need him, hope we can offload him and his massive wages quick smart. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I disagree - he was looking really goood toward the end of his first difficult season and I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do fully fit playing Kenny's quick passing, attacking game.Originally posted by danperkins View PostIMO we really don't need him, hope we can offload him and his massive wages quick smart.
