Agger has a wide selection of injurys though but I think there is a different to having a recurring injury and being injury 'prone' if that makes sense.Originally posted by Lecter View PostAquilani is injury prone just like Agger is
Look at the amount of games hes played 272 games in 10 years (I wont count the first season at Roma as he only played 2 games)
Thats an average of 27 games per season
Gerrard played 439 games in his first 10 seasons
Lucas has played 258 games in 8 seasons
Agger who I also class as injury prone has played 214 in 9 seasons
I see you as someone who knows quite a fair bit about football Lec, you must admit Aquilani does have some talent
The times they are a changin'.

Sure Torres could play in the final too, and what exactly does that mean as he's been poison all season, so Meireles even though he is suspended for the fina, hel has been average for Chelsea all season.Originally posted by Gibbo9 View PostAlright then, since you rate Henderson so highly who would you prefer in your starting 11?
I remember you saying the same about Meireles and he ended up going to this **** team called Chelsea and is about to play in a CL final.
And doesn't matter who i would start, it's not football manager. But when 3 clubs want rid of a player in 3 consecutive seasons, what does that say to you? Best piece of business Roma have ever done.

Ah the oul homesick excuse. If he was as good as you are saying well then Liverpool or Juventus or Milan would have stuck with him. We didn't want him, Juventus didn't want him & Milan don't seem to want him.Originally posted by Gibbo9 View PostWe got rid of him because of homesickness not ability.
Juventus and Milan both saw a free player for a season and took us for a mug, it's not as if he hasn't played for either side. It wasn't a case of him benchwarming.
We are just stuck with him, Juve and Milan clearly didn't want to pay money for him, and clearly used us as they know we are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
IMO not thanks, let him go on a free and get his massive wages off our books.

Conjecture that and it doesn't take some important factors into account. Namely, Juve got Pirlo for free and AC are getting Montolivo for free.Originally posted by danperkins View PostAh the oul homesick excuse. Most of the things on here is rumor and conjecture. Above clubs wanted rid of him, that is the reality.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostConjecture that and it doesn't take some important factors into account. Namely, Juve got Pirlo for free and AC are getting Montolivo for free.
He wasn't good enough and was moved on. Bad buy and we have paid to price. You're a stats man look at his stats over his whole career. For a progressive midfielder he production is shocking.

He clearly has been better than everyone we have attempted to replace him with. He was scapegoated by Purslow and while he claimed to be homesick, he was also overlooked by Kenny for less talented players.Originally posted by danperkins View PostMost of the things on here is rumor and conjecture.

He is not a goal scorer, he is a good player though, he drives attacks in a way Adam wishes he could be.Last edited by Mattshark; 14-05-12, 10:04 PM.

Oh nonsense Dan, Roy said about Purslow retarded ****e.Originally posted by danperkins View PostWe have enough bang average players at LFC, lets not have another one that's on massive wages. He wasn't scapegoated, he was just a failed buy. Regardless if Kenny has bought ****e, doesn't change the fact that Aqualani isn't good enough.
He is good enough, sorry. He wasn't a failed buy, he just was barely given a chance.
I notice you ignored the 2 mitigating factors re: the other transfers.

So was Robbie Keane not a failed buy? What about Joe Cole? Two players just off top of my head that played similar amount of games to Aqua but have been considered by most to be failed buys.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostOh nonsense Dan, Roy said about Purslow retarded ****e.

Simple fact Matt is that If he was good enough he would still be here. He'll do ok in Italy as it suits his game. For me, not good enough and won't improve our first team in the slightest, and on too high a wage just to be a squaddie.

Not really direct comparisons, imo. Both Cole and Aquilani had a change of manager (2 in Aquilani's case) Aquilani was never given a chance by Hodgson and Kenny was he. Cole tbf had time under Kenny, Keane was just under Rafa for his stint for us. So, nope, it is not a simple fact, it is you opinion but it is not based on any fair judgement.Originally posted by danperkins View PostSo was Robbie Keane not a failed buy? What about Joe Cole? I understand what you are saying but to me an injury is an injury and Aquilani misses an awful lot of games a seasonOriginally posted by Gibbo9 View PostAgger has a wide selection of injurys though but I think there is a different to having a recurring injury and being injury 'prone' if that makes sense.

He was homesick, chronically homesick at that
He never gave Roy or Kenny a chance as he wanted to return to Italy
I actually dont have a problem with that frankly
