    On so many levels

When you look at what we got for him and what we shelled out for Aquilani and will subsequently lose on Aquilani its ****ing heartbreaking

Being an Aquilani supporter I feel let down by him. Not because he wants to move, but because he isn't doing all he can to convince the OTHER clubs to get him. Always running back to us with cap in hand.

The one good thing out of this is his purchase price comes out of H&G's pocket and not part of the price paid for the club by FSG (not much anyway). To FSG, Aquilani is just a leech and letting him go with no penalties is almost a bonus.

Completely **** source obviously, but I think it's likely to be the case.

Forgotten man Alberto Aquilani is finally set to leave Liverpool - with a cut-price £3million deal with AC Milan ready to be finalised this week.

The midfielder has had a nightmare spell in England since his £20m move to Liverpool in 2009.

A succession of injuries meant he had to wait until October 2009 to make his Reds debut, having joined that summer.

But Aquilani failed to impress, with injury problems and a lack of form resulting in Liverpool ditching him from the side.

Loan spells at Juventus and then Milan followed and the Serie A giants are now closing in on a deal to sign the Italy international.

Aquilani spent this season on loan at the San Siro and Liverpool originally wanted around £7m - a significant loss on their original investment - to make the move permanent.

AC Milan played hard-ball though and now look to have secured Aquilani for even less. A £3m deal is set to be agreed and Milan hope to announce the signing officially this week.

I'd be pleased if we got anything for him

As I said I'd let him go for nothing if need be just to get his wages off the books

                  Same with Cole

Cole's got to go. First out the door this summer for me.

I suppose if we release them both then it's close to £10m saved per year on wages alone.

If I remember correctly he had those 22 games quite early & then ?? Funny business? Who knows

I don't get all this negativity and "Flop" "****ty Signing" name calling for Aquilani.

He was the victim of unrealistic fans expectations as he was seen by many as Alonso's replacement (completely different player to begin with) and poorly managed since he recovered from injury.

Had only 12 starts in PL and scored 1 goal and had 6 assists which is miles and miles better than what Hendo and Adam produced last year given their number of starts.

He came injured just like Carroll and he cost less than Carroll but we all saw what Carroll did when he was finally given a string of games to play which cannot be said about Aquilani.

He should have stayed and should have never been loaned in the first place as he has more creativity and ability than more of our midfield.

Some say he is home sick and there is no doubt he is now but he also is a true professional as Comolli and others said many times who if he is given a chance to play imo would embrace that challenge.

I'd love to see Rodgers keeping him for a year and play him regularly as I think he'd fit his style of play very nicely.

Sadly I cannot see him staying but I don't think it is justified to label him negatively as many did as he was never given a proper chance to prove himself.

Give him a year let him have 25+ starts and they judge him.
