He didn't play for Roy cause Purslow in his wisdom decided that it is better to loan him out as he saw his wages as a big issue and Kenny, according to Comolli ,didn't see him in his plans due to Adam and Henderson signings.

No doubt that he is home sick but I'd tend to think that he is professional first and foremost and if WE want he'll stay.

It should be us dictating terms not Aquilani, his agent or those cunts from Juve or Milan.

Rafa had his hands tied and took a gamble on an injured player that didn't work out. Rafa was ruthless and there is no doubt that had he still been here he would have got rid if necessary and most likely not on the terms that we’ve agreed so far. Rafa may have been involved in the signing of the player, he hasn’t been involved in the loan shambles since. For all we know he may have flourished under Rafa, homesick or not.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Why? He had £20m odd to spend on a player. Hardly having his hands tied is it? There were other options out there.

It's been done to death and wasn't really the key point of my argument. Check one of say Arn's posts about the breakdown of the transfer and how if at all money owed for Riise had an impact, but either way it wasn't as straightforward as saying oh here's $20m, go out and buy whoever you want.

My point was that if Rafa had of stayed who's to say that Aquilani mightn't have went on to make a decent impact in his second season or got rid of completely with some of the money recouperated? Rafa can hardly be responsible for what the club did with the player after he left, he didn't negotiate such ridiculous loan deals.

I loathe the way Aquilani and his agent are handling this. You can't blame the club for wanting to get a player for as cheap as possible, but for our player to collude with the other club to demand the move on their terms is really outrageous.

Rumour was Rafa was given constraints as to under what circumstances we could make any substantial signings, one of which was we could do business with clubs that owed us money so in terms of spending the can was kicked down the road. How true that was is anyone's guess, but it certainly fits with the transfers we made in that period.

I love the way Aquilani and his agent are playing this. Its Business. I would do the same. Football is a business, there are no morals and ethics anymore. Self preservation Society. I know plenty of people who have done similar in Business. Just because its football means Jack****. Go Screw the **** out of them Aquilani.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I mean, now or later? It can't be both. Not if you do the first one right anyway.
