AVB bigging up the Chelsea faithful ahead of a big match tomorrow...

Chelsea went 86 games unbeaten at Stamford Bridge under Mourinho, Avram Grant and Luiz Felipe Scolari but Villas-Boas questioned whether Chelsea’s home ground had ever intimidated opponents.

“When you go to any away ground there is always an emotional strength coming from the fans from that ground,” he said. “I don’t think there is a fear factor at the Bridge. I don’t know if there ever was a fear factor at the Bridge to be fair. There is a fear factor at a couple of grounds in this country.”

Villas-Boas then cited Old Trafford and Anfield as such places.

That'll go down well with the fans.

he is just making it easier for them to sack him, cop for his pay off and then get back to somewhere sunny.

I hope Rafa gets the Chelsea job, it's the only was some of you will actually move on and relise that's he's not as good as you think he is.

Indeed, I guess 2 x La Ligas, European Cup, UEFA Cup, FA Cup, European Cup final and all the other trophies he's won were just flukes ....he's simply not as good as his CV suggests because Aled says so

It’s obvious that I was going to touch a nerve with some of you, and I expected a couple of replies similar to yours.

But our football was dire at times under him, I was glad we got shot of him. But you think otherwise, so I must be wrong.

It doesn't touch a nerve, it was just a ridiculous thing to say

You don't have to like him, but his CV is there for all to see whether you like him or not.

Im not trying to start a whole Rafa debate here but when you say "glad we got shot of him" do you mean at the time that we did or would you have liked him to leave earlier?

Our football was 'dire' only in parts in his last season here and in the 07/08 season during January when the G&H issue escalated for the first time.

Other than we did not go through a phase of bad/dire performances ever

Where did I say his CV was **** though?

There's a woman in my office and her CV is amazing, she's a lazy **** and I not very good at her job, and she's still living off her past achievements. Bit like Rafa really?

Oh aye, exactly like Rafa ...what a great analogy

You said "you will realise he's not as good as you think he is"

I think he's every bit as good as his CV suggests, which is a multiple trophy winner, a trophy winner with each of his last three clubs and a master of the European Cup. What happens in this hypothetical short-term role at Chelsea would have no bearing on that, whether he did well or badly.
