There's a woman in my office and her CV is amazing, she's a lazy **** and I not very good at her job, and she's still living off her past achievements. Bit like Rafa really?
You dont get a good CV in football by not being good at your job. The work he did with the lack of support he had was great. He got very close to winning the league for us. Not many of our managers have done that in the last 20 years.

Rafa is the most successful manager in my lifetime, which is why I hold him up there. Fair enough he didnt win the league. But he won the Champions league, FA cup and got us to a second final.

10 years ago we could only have dreamt of that. Too say he is living off past achievements is a bit much too. The same can be said for Wenger, Capello, Rijkaard and a whole load more. Doesn't make them bad managers because they haven't done much recently. Harry Redknapp is held in higher regard and all he has won is the FA cup in 30 years of trying.
      *Except Michael, who died.

He built the best LFC side in 20 years, against a poisonous backdrop of oppressive ownership and back-stabbing. That's a fact.

        Gratitude for you eh

I love being told how to think.......so if he took the Chelsea job won the league and CL in his first full season would you still love it? Would you be able to move on?

              My site, my thread

I should have known better than to bring this up on a Liverpool forum. I sincerely, apologise for my actions and any pain I cause Rafa, his family, or his minions.

              Rafa

                  "minions"

Is there really any need to be so bitter about his success and the respect he has from most Reds

You want him to fail - that's up to you. It's bitter, but it's up to you. Personally I think Reds should show more respect to a European Cup winning LFC manager. In 3 years he took Liverpool FC to the same amount of European Cup finals as Manchester United had reached in their entire history.

Also, I know that people don't like Rafa. But I have never really heard a decent argument for why. People say they don't like his football. But we scored plenty of goals, and didnt concede much. So that cant be it.

So what is it? I'm genuinely interested.

I appreciate everything he’s done for Liverpool, I’ve never doubted that.

What I was trying to point out is that:
                          - I was glad he was sacked, the timing was right
                          - Spent millions on ****
                          - We played dire football at times
                          - Think that too many people have an un-healthy view of how good he was
                          - Saying that I wouldn’t be fussed if he replaced AVB

Are you honestly telling me that you’ve got the same respect for every former player that has won trophies for Liverpool (every single one?)

Houllier has been hammered on here several times, he won trophies too, doesn’t he deserve respect in the same way?

                              Herd mentality.
