becoming manger of chelsea is a golden handshake these days. A manager need only manage for another season at chelsea and then be set up for life and never work again. You tell me which manager wouldnt want to become the new manager after AVB.

I might stick an application in myself
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

      Dead man walking now.

There's no way he'll be there next season IMO.

I'm starting to wonder whether he'll be there next weekend, let alone next season.

          Should we go for him?

Jumpy Villas-Boas is scared of Abramovich swinging axe, says Torres' mentor

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is running scared and is close to the sack.

That was the claim made on Wednesday night by the mentor of £50million Spain striker Fernando Torres.

Antonio Sanz, Torres' former agent and the ghost writer of his autobiography, says Chelsea and Villas-Boas are to blame for the striker's struggles.
Sanz said: 'Villas-Boas is not fulfilling Chelsea's expectations and he's really scared because he is really close to getting sacked.

'It's true that Fernando Torres' stats aren't that great and that's the reason he's not with Spain for the Venezuela game.

'But I don't think Torres has a problem, it's just that Chelsea aren't helping him find his form.

'According to Chelsea's players, there is a bad atmosphere in the dressing room.'

Sanz's comments follow Villas-Boas' criticism of Torres on Portuguese radio earlier in the week, when he compared the former Liverpool man to fellow Chelsea flops Andriy Shevchenko and Mateja Kezman.

And as doubts persist over Villas-Boas' future, Chelsea have been linked with former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez, a move that ex-Kop hero Torres would welcome.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's out-of-contract striker Didier Drogba wants a net salary of £6million when he quits Stamford Bridge.

Drogba has just five months left to run on his contract, meaning he can enter discussions with clubs over a potential move.

He is attracting interest from the cash-rich Middle East and has already rejected a £4m-a-year offer from Qatari side Al Saad.

The 33-year-old is also a target for mega-rich Anzhi Makhachkala - managed by ex-Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink - who will offer £8m-£10m.

There is also interest from Chicago Fire of the MLS. Drogba would prefer to stay on a two-year deal but Chelsea will only offer 12 months.

Chelsea have held discussions with Porto regarding potential replacement Hulk, 25. Blues owner Roman Abramovich is keen on the Brazil forward.

Come on Roman, step up to the plate and take over the manager's role. The world is waiting. I'd love to see him shouting his instructions from the dug out. He'd make Mike Bassett look like Rinus Michels.

Apparently, Luiz is telling Lampard to fall in line with the gaffer. Lampard has bailed them out so many times, yet lacks respect. I would be considering a bounce. I see Chelsea drifting back towards the mid table, especially when FFP comes into full effect.
