Moutinho is light-weight. Could see him at Everton or Villa but he'd die on his arse at a bigger club.Originally posted by danperkins View PostGreat coup for Chelsea, be gutted if they sign Falcao or Moutinho, but be delighted if they sign that headless chicken Hulk. Surely he will bring a few with him?

Not having a go at anyone in particular (OK, danperkins?) but to call Villas Boas a mercenary is ridiculous. It's just stupid and philosophically lazy to hold people in football to a higher standard of behaviour than applies to the rest of us.
There's the occasional instance of fairly poor behaviour but even someone like Rooney eventually managed to work out last autumn that there were more important things than money and reined in his agent..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

**** the uefa rules. it'll never happen. when bosman came up we were told it's the end of transfers, really? no. then we had the freedom of movement act or whatever a few years ago and we were again told the big transfers would never be topped yet they've got bigger. whilst so many billionaires are involved the fees will be paid. A champions league without top clubs? no chance.Originally posted by dom9 View PostSo this is another £13m odd quid on Chelsea's balance sheet iro UEFA fair play rules.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde
