Imo he would fit perfectly with JWH "value for money" approach. Only 19 and clearly talented enough to be a superstar in a near future.Originally posted by danperkins View Postlook pure quality alright, no wonder so many clubs after him, and yeah jaysus we're so far away from signing anyone like that
No matter what we would pay him we can sell him for twice that amount in 4,5 years if we decide to do so.
One player Imo we should buy without thinking too much.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Mate, I'm not suggesting for a second he's not starting on merit. Just pointing out the current Brazil manager is obviously someone who knows him as both a man and a player and who is aware of his value to a team. I cannot believe the improvement in LL. I believe he may only be a year or so away from being a top, top player

Some people were saying he was crap and should be got rid of. Others were saying he was young and inexperienced and needed to be given time. And I expect there were still others who weren't in either camp.Originally posted by red g View Postnot rocket surgery is it. I love all this revisionism and how people have been proved alegedly right......but he had to play an awful lot of games to get where he is today and he really wasnt very good to start with.
But clearly his improvement has proved right those who said he'd come good and wrong those who wanted rid..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Between Argentina's dire display against Bolivia, and Brazil being ****e tonight, the big boys are letting the side down so far.
Here's hoping Uruguay do something tomorrow

unforunately all the "superstar" "next best things"
always seem to want to go to either Madrid or Barca for some reason, bleeding irritating

No, it was the 'humble pie' comment i had an issue with - implying that Lucas was always this good and some people just wouldnt admit it, or something.Originally posted by wavydavy View Post

When most of the 'humble pie eaters' were criticising his game, he WAS poor.

Brazil are nothing like the amazing teams they once had. Difficult to see Spain being overcome anytime soon, unless Argentina get their act together and learn to utilise the incredible attacking talent they have. Brazil at home next world cup though, so that'll obviously help. But they're a shadow of the amazing Brazil sides from the past.

Yeah true they are a shadow of previous teams. The Argies have amazing attacking players but are a shambles defensively. I can't see either of them toppling the Spanish. Lot of tippy tappy bull**** and zero end product, so boring but at least Lucas has been rock solid and had an impressive game which is a good thing i suppose.

No, but if you say so. Messi plays in front of Xavi & Iniesta for Barça where he is lethal getting the ball near the box and dribbling in or in the box and finishing. For Argentina he picks the ball up at the half way line and runs at defenders. Maradona even said he wanted Messi to prove himself as the playmaker, as the true #10, etc etc. He is still stick there because Argentina have no Xavi/Iniesta attacking midfielders to link play between Mascherano/Cambiasso and the 4000 forwards they have, so it falls to Messi to launch the attacks, etc etc. He does "everything but score" for Argentina, meanwhile he bangs in 50 for Barça. Not sure how it is the same, less sure how it is not a huge waste, but ok, if you say so.Originally posted by Mattimetal View PostNo he wasn't a disaster at all, he was barely given enough time tbh.
He was thrown in at the deep end and had to battle to get them to qualify, but give him his due he achieved it in the end.
He played Messi in the same way he plays for Barca - he was aloud to roam - so don't sprout **** about him playing Mesi too deep, cos Messi did everything but score in the WC.
