French league is hotting up, Little Montpellier needed a win to go 8 points clear of PSG and Lille i think it is.

Played last night v Evian, was 2-2, then Montpellier had a very late Penalty, but their star player got into a fight, full on punch up apparently, 4 sending offs, fella waits ages to take this pen as all this happens...........and misses.

So they go 6 clear, but PSV and Lille have a game in hand, and Lille play Montpellier too.

Wonder if they'll hang on, apparently a very small side in comparison to others, and an 8 point lead would have probably seen them home, they may never get another chance.

True, give them 1-2 more seasons and it's hard to see anyone compete with them domestically. They are the only really money rich team in France and the rest have to work from the ground up. Wonder how far they can take it internationally? They have the city and capacity to lure players, but is the league interesting enough?
