Luckily it's not a big deal cos he's only back up but he patently isn't 'as good as we can expect', most if not all no.2s in the PL are a lot better than him. Hopefully Reina will be back next week.
He is useless comanding his box. The first Spurs goal should have been easily taken care of. Long time in the air and only five six yards out.
I lost count of the number of times he didn't even try to catch the ball. He even looked afraid of the ball when Bale hit his freekick and didn't knew what to do.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

Anyway...
Personally I'm happy enough as long as he does ok and we don't concede from silly mistakes by him.Originally posted by Alex View PostIts hardly **** slinging. He is not good enough. He did ok yesterday and we didnt concede from silly mistakes by him. But that doesnt mean he is exempt from criticism. He just isn't good enough to play for Liverpool, or in a Premier League team at all for that matter.
Although I suppose he can be criticised for failing to score yesterday.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

He's a bouncer at a club called DH1 (formerly Ricksey's) in Durham. Or at least he was when I was last there in 2006- proper miserable git he was- even if you engaged him on his footie career (come to think of it that's probably why...).Originally posted by dom9 View PostWhat's Mike Hooper up to these days?
As for Jones- he should be called Bombscare. It's his kicking that's worst- when he goes long it's as if no one, not even him, has any idea where the ball will end up. Then- when he plays it short he always puts someone in trouble.
He's not up to it and he knows it- does not look the part between the sticks for LFC- should be no.3 keeper

Removed a rather unwise remark from this thread. Efforts to ensure lessons are learned from it will be made.
Unfortunately to prevent discussion of that point rearing up again I've also had to remove some very well made responses too. Apologies to those people, your comments were spot on

Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Hmm, not sure who has said he's 'as good as we can expect'. I've said he's done as well as you can expect from a reserve keeper, which I think he has this season. He's been worse in the past, but if he continues as he is I don't see him being a particular problem for us.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI'd like to hear someone name a worse keeper.

Reina has been more injury prone this season - often when that happens, injuries become more frequent which puts a reliance on the other first team goalkeeper.
Would you be happy for Jones to come in for a 10-15 match run, as Liverpool's de facto #1 goalkeeper? Because thats how close he is to the first team, and thats how close the team is to calamity.
A few years back, David James was the pretty much unchallenged number one with Stensgaard or Warner as backup. I never saw Stensgaard play, but I did see Warner - Jones isn't of a higher standard to him, and that is unhealthy.
Brendan needs to recruit strongly in that position, or any progress he makes in building the squad could be undone by a glaring weakness. He's the weakest backup for a first team squad member at the club.

Obviously I'd rather have a a better lineup of keepers. I think we would ideally buy a top keeper to put real pressure on reina with a view to replacing him. No, I'd rather not have jones in goal for an extended period, but if the situation arises when he has to pay then I don't particularly fear that and I wouldn't expect it to have much of a detrimental impact on our results.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

I think you agree with me but fundamentally disagree with me
