Think the fact that he has been happy to play number 2 for four years says a lot about his mentality and ambition. Anyone worth his salt would want to be playing first team football not warming a bench every week, even if it meant moving to a team in the Championship to prove yourself

Poor positioning then. Skrtel never moved laterally and Brad nestled himself nicely in behind him so he couldn't see.

he thought mata was going to shoot, so squatted down, wtf was that about.
when mata crosses for RVP he was struggling to get off his arse and get across.

motd analysis showed how de gea stays on his feet and forces the striker to make the move, rather than guessing which way and then leaving the goal wide open for the striker.
awful for both goals. I wasn't even worried about him before the game, more the absence of Lucas and the presence of Lovren but he reminded us all why he should be in the third division. How he has remained as our backup keeper I'll never know.

And why is 'absolutely ****e' dead funny?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Liverpool FC open contract talks with a goalkeeper....and it's Brad Jones

Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Liverpool have taken the surprising step of opening contract talks with second choice goalkeeper Brad Jones.

The Aussie shot-stopper was widely expected to leave Anfield when his current deal expires this summer. However, the Reds have now decided to make the 33-year-old an offer to stay put.

Jones has made 25 appearances since his £2.3million move from Middlesbrough five years ago – serving as the deputy to first Pepe Reina and then Simon Mignolet.

He was handed his chance back in December after Mignolet’s slump in form but a thigh injury suffered at Burnley on Boxing Day wrecked his hopes of a sustained run in the side.

Since regaining fitness, he hasn’t featured with Mignolet’s revival cementing his status as Liverpool’s No 1.

The Reds had planned to sign a keeper this summer to replace Jones and compete with the Belgium international but the fact that they have belatedly approached him over a new deal suggests there has been a change of heart.

“There have been discussions,” confirmed Rodgers.

“Obviously, Brad is in his last year but nothing has been resolved on that.”

You've got to be ****ing joking? Just goes to show the ambition of the club this. So much for getting a decent backup keeper in the summer. In fact we should be getting a keeper that can fight for the no1 slot not keeping one on just because he is on low wages.

So what next are we going to resign PFK?
