Yeah, I'm not sure I like the way this has been done. It was different compared to Jupp Heynckes at Bayern, who was retiring, although he didn't want to leave in the end.

If Chelsea can get Simeone in next season, the league is going to look like footballing porn in terms of managers.

The City statement is a bit cunty towards Pellegrini - did they really need to mention that he was second choice when he joined back in 2012?

He extended his contract until June 2017 back in August, so he still had next season to go. Now that will be terminated a year early for Guardiola.

I am amazed Fat Sam hasn't been touted for any of the big jobs , quite clearly there is a bias towards proven British managers

City is also hardly an easy option. They dont exactly inspire with their football at the moment and the squad is pretty old.

Whilst Id love to see him go to someone like Swansea and do a job, realistically its never going to happen as they either 1 cant afford him or B cant attract him.

Whilst he might be a cunt or whatever we want to call him, its not because he took the easy jobs. That being said I dont think he is. He's not exactly Mourinho, Ferguson, Van Gaal level.
A bottomless pit of Money helps there though can see city spending huge in the summer.

Okay my mistake - I remember he'd signed a one year deal.

It's not ideal but it's football so it's no surprise. Pellegrini has known for ages, he'll be right.

How much do you think SKY paid city to release this news in the dullest transfer deadline day ever?

He's an upmarket Ronny Delia. Had the good fortune to have the greatest club team in history fall into his lap. Then went on the win the league in Germany with Bayern. Akin to shooting fish in a barrel.
