The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

£948.21million. That's how much Manchester City have spent since sealing promotion to the old First Division in May 1999.

Yeah that's one way of putting it. But it would be interesting to see how full old trafford or anfield would be if the majority of fans were locals only which I imagine the majority who follow city are. The big established teams have built up worldwide fanbases over many years, therefore plenty of non locals with lots of money jump at the chance to grab tickets. City obviously have a smaller support and I guess it's too expensive for many to go to every game.

At least they have the title to show for it - I bet we've spent close to £8-900M during the same period & I know we've had various cup successes & the CL obviously but we've squandered multi-millions on ****e

I bet our Net is much better though. Anyone any idea what Rafa's net spent was?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Who in their right mind would build a stadium and not take into account future expansion?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Well that Stadium was built for the Commonwealth games. So I guess its the same as West Ham. Moving in at a cheaper rate and hoping to fill it up.

                          They've only just expanded it...

Clearly they believe that their status of a big club is now assured and in the coming years they'll become more popular outside of their historical heartlands.

I suspect Pep will bring in a few more fans next season.

New Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants Mikel Arteta to join his backroom staff, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admitting it is "possible" the midfielder will move. (Manchester Evening News)
