There is a maximum of 5 CL places per country, the only way team who finishes fourth league in the league doesn't make the CL (qualifier) is if an English team (City) win the CL whilst finishing outside the top 4 and another English team (us) wins the EL whilst also finishing outside the top 4.

It has been a steady decline since then hasn't it and not for the want to spending a huge amount of money.

Look at their transfers - initially they did everything right. A lot of activity - including adding Tevez, Kompany, Toure, Silva, Milner, Aguero. Yes they paid way over the odds for most of them however they had the money and time to make up but since then its been expensive mediocrities one piled on top of another until De Bryune.

Each time we got ourselves into a position to win it some ****ers have gone on an amazing run to snatch it from us and yet Leicester come along and manage to be reasonably decent for a season and at the same time all the lads who should be winning it all out do each in other in epically **** stakes!

Yeah they signed all their best players at a time when they were trying to get to the top of the game and once they got there their signings have been awful.
