      Saying what?
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Ive always fancied Welbeck to kick on and be decent. If he went to Spurs/Everton and was the main man for a few years instead of slogging it about on the wing and getting little playing time. Cant see him being the main man at Arsenal and developing quite so well though.

Trying to compare his situation at Chelsea with wellbeck at utd. Not given the right opportunity, people thought he was **** but proved them wrong as wellbeck will. Yada yada.

Love being able to be the condescending ****** at work now. Throwing my pity around Arsenal fans for this transfer and the Mancs for their current ****eness.

Savouring the sweetness of being an absolute ******* while it lasts. Hope you are all doing the same.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he would not have signed striker Danny Welbeck on transfer deadline day had he been in the country.

The 23-year-old left boyhood club Manchester United in a £16m switch to the Gunners while Wenger was away in Rome for a charity game.

Wenger said: "If I'd stayed at home he wouldn't be here now."
He refused to elaborate on that but added he initially wanted Welbeck on loan with an option to buy.

                - rather bizarre comments from Wenger

Should have been in the fcking country on deadline day then you clever fool.

Obviously, readying the fans and board to Arsenal's lacklustre season and then blaming the board for not signing Remy/Falcao/ANother.

I wonder if he's thinking his 4th spot is under genuine threat this season? And he's getting the excuses in now.

Or maybe it's genuinely what he thinks.
                    Oh I don't know.

Or maybe its more piss poor journalism to suit an agenda.
If he refused to elaborate but the he did because he added?!?!

Serves him right for wearing his socks like that!

edit: oh, and Wellbeck scored 20 goals in 50 appearences for utd, playing mostly out of position.

As suspected, those comments are out of context. Wenger was defending his decision to travel on deadline day and was saying the move happened because he met someone in Rome who he might not have met at home.

Wenger really is a massive tit. Wel**** is better than what they had and frankly i think its quality that the Arsenal board have gone over wenger's head and signed a striker.
