Oh, NOW it's in the interests of all teams to not accept the **** officiating.

We can laugh at his hypocrisy whilst still supporting his point.
VAR isn't fit for purpose.
The earlier incident of the forearm smash to the back of the head.with no action being taken is far more egregious than the awarding of the goal.
Webb needs to explain why VAR took no action.

I thought they were in a FFP pinch, they had to change the Raya deal to pay for him next summer.

Not Alisson level but comfortably, in Friedel's opinion, on the tier below Alisson.
He was saying that as a keeper within the PL with the potential to excel at a better club that Raya would be his clear pick by some distance. He compared Raya a lot to Maignan at Milan in terms of technique and goal keeping style.
My guess as to the best of the rest in the PL would have been Martinez at Villa tbh but Fiedel had Raya as being a much more rounded keeper that would suit a team looking for a sweeper keeper that is also a high level shot stopper.
Just found it interesting to hear what another keeper had to say about current keepers in the league from a watching them POV and also from a stat perspective.
Everyone is on the Tier behind Alisson

Yeah Maignon is an absolute wall of a goalkeeper. Position's himself so well and on the odd occasion he is out of position he has crazy good reflexes to fall back upon.
Not the best with the ball at his feet but then I have gotten used to Alisson's levels so almost every other keeper will suffer by comparison.
Friedel was on a few other shows during the week too and on Sky he mentioned how badly treated he was by David James and used it as an example of how trying to have two number Ones at a club usually means you end up with no number one as both guys are in limbo.
Seems James basically acted aggressively all the time to him, treated him like dirt and undermined him every chance he got in order to stop Friedel getting a crack at a starting place. Friedel being made very much the outsider.
He went on to say that David James did acknowledge his behaviour after he retired and did give an apology.

It’s baffling to me that nobody has pushed hard for Kelleher

Is it down to them having paid the stadium off? Sure I read something about that a while back.

Arsenal fans spent years moaning about their ownership not spending.
Now they’re going mad with the spending. How come they’re suddenly spunking hundreds of millions after having been absolute skinflints for so long?

Yep, all these years Wenger got them 4th on a shoestring budget….. like us
