Well, each individual case has its own ins and outs.

I guess we've also been "fortunate" that rather than our very best players wanting to stubbornly see out their contracts, they've wanted just to leave there and then.

I think the wages at Arsenal are pretty decent. They've had a rigid pay structure at that club for ages, only recently loosening for Aubameyang and Ozil, the latter of which seems a total disaster. But comparatively we spend more than they do, or more to the point our wage spend is about 57% and theirs is around a more ideal 50%. Still both under 60% which is considered to be the danger line.

On a spreadsheet you'd say they were the better run football club but clearly it isn't. Their transfer approach is ****e (they just ditched the Dortmund fella) and being out of CL football is crucial.

In terms of bottom line on spending they are only £100m ahead of us over the last five years which for clubs with that turnover is nothing really. It's more to do with buying the right players for their team which for some reason Arsenal seem to leave it for 5years before sorting out. Gk, DCM, etc.

So what, basically on the pitch they are ****e which IMO directly affects their off pitch performance. Catch 22

Lucky us But who have they sold for a profit recently though? The Coutinho sale really allowed us to move a step forward.

Right now they seem to be suffering a bit, but they'll probably be OK soon enough, they have the resources, just need more long term planning on the pitch.

We have Klopp, they don't. Edwards has been brilliant, but I don't think he would look as impressive as he does without Klopp's ability to coach and develop players and make them look twice as good in his system.

Lots of analysis on Arsenal's accounts (now and historic) here:

Many interesting tweets, but this one perhaps stands out the most.

Far too early. His record says otherwise though.
                  Are we winning?

Interesting times ahead for Arsenal, it's vital for them to get back into the CL but they need to get a quality defender in now to have chance to do so. On and off the pitch they are facing some challenges.

****ing hell they were poor at the back yesterday, getting dragged all over the place and were a total disorganised mess. They got sucked into the same thing every time by United on the counter. United's goals were decent to be fair and they were incisive but Arsenal were shocking at the back. Their back line is slow as **** too.

Yeah, people think we've got problems with three fit CBs. They're ****ed back there now.

I think they'll finish the league in 6th, certainly no chance of CL football next year, again.

                            Socratis out for 6 weeks.

                            They're shot.

Well, they are lacking width as well. And transfers take a while to line up, they only just lost two CBs on Friday night. That's pretty unlucky in fairness.

I'd be surprised if they didn't get some emergency cover in but i don't really care, they'll still be ****.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Juventus in the summer in a deal that will earn him over £400,000 a week.

The 28-year-old has agreed a four-year contract that will see him join the Italian champions as a free agent, ending his 11-year spell with Arsenal.

Ramsey passed a two-part medical in January, having picked Juve following talks with a host of European clubs.

He will be the highest-earning British player ever based on basic salary.

The Wales international's Arsenal contract expires on 30 June and the Gunners will receive no fee when he leaves.
